I am so excited to announce that I have won and accepted a position with “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band!!

I want to thank my many primary teachers who have provided support and guidance to me throughout my journey thus far: Michael Mulcahy, Mark Fisher, Mark Lawrence, Weston Sprott, Doug Wright, Tim Higgins, Randy Hawes, Charlie Vernon, and Casey Maday. You all have had a monumental impact on me as a person and a musician, and I cherish all the time I have spent learning from you.

I also want to thank my wonderful family, friends, and my amazing girlfriend Christina for your love, encouragement, and endless support throughout my preparation. I could not have done it without you. Although I will dearly miss Chicago, I am thrilled to move to DC and join the Marine Corps. It is an honor to join this historic and prestigious organization, and I am so excited for all the new opportunities and experiences that await me in this next chapter! by @a_ertl

So thankful for another incredible summer at the Music Academy of the West!

I’m extremely grateful to have performed amazing music with this top-notch low brass section, I’ll miss playing with you guys! I was also honored with the opportunity to perform a recital in the final round of the Duo Competition with Jiwoo, which was an experience I will never forget. Thank you to everyone who made this summer so special! taken in Music Academy by @a_ertl

I am absolutely honored, thrilled, and still in disbelief that I was able to perform Mahler’s 2nd Symphony with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Not only was it alongside the orchestra which I have grown to adore throughout my entire collegiate experience, but I was also able to perform next to three of my most influential teachers.

To my professors: Thank you for providing me with this once-in-a-lifetime experience. I greatly appreciate your investment in my learning and your trust in me. This is certainly a graduation gift that won’t be topped! Go Cats!
