“Elegy to Humanity” is a reflection on the world we live in today, where the true essence of humanity seems lost. Through this piece, I seek to express the fading values of compassion, unity, and what it truly means to be human.

From military bands to concert halls: how did Janissary music transform European musical expression? Dr. Abdullah Khalaf explores how Ottoman mehter traditions evolved beyond Turkish representation, becoming part of the Western orchestral language—from theatrical exoticism to the humanistic vision of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.
Rast Musicology Journal | Autumn 2026, 14(3), 371–407.

In a time when people are asking AI to imagine their lives and generate images of who they are, which I have nothing against, I thought I would simply show the real one 🤓
