Visiting Delite Cinema w @tiwaksha on Delhiz S1Ep3

Do your parents also get nostalgic of their 90s movie going experience? the balcony seats, the single screen theatres, the matinee show craze. We don't get to see that these days with multiplexes however there is one cinema in Delhi which has not just stood the test of time, but always dedicated itself to keep the art of movie theatre experience alive. With one commitment, no fancy pricing only fancy experience.

Delite cinema has seen all prominent figures attending it's premiere be it Madhubala, Raj Kapoor, Nargis, Guru Dutt, Ashok Kumar, Dilip Kumar and even dignitaries like PM Jawahar Lal Nehru, PM Lal Bahadur Shastri, PM Indira Gandhi and many more.

Prithviraj Kapoor used to live here with family in early decades on the 4th floor of this building. In 1954, his son Raj Kapoor premiered his Angarey in Delite Cinema and Raizada family, owner of this cinema chain, has never looked away from this venture.

Delite has never been just about movies. During 1971 war it used to have two intermissions to broadcast war news. In 1990s it introduced Mahasamosa, an affordable and signature snack of it's own. After independence, it used to host India's first film festivals including 1950s India Korean Cultural Exchange cinema division hosting.

Delite cinema has always dedicated itself to best quality experience, but never pushed itself in premium pricing. Raizada family says that the philosophy behind this is simple, "Cinema Belongs to Everyone".

Mahila Haat w @tiwaksha 🫡 S1E1 Delhiz

Welcome to Delhiz where we explore Delhi again. We are not finding hidden gems, just revisiting them with a lens of 20 year old. Sometimes alone or sometimes with friends.

Today we explored Mahila Haat, a place I have been visiting from past four years whenever I need to restock my bookshelf or get new journals. Until 2019 it was an open market (unlike a dedicated place market it is today).

Since 1964, many diplomats and embassies left behind books and litreature which found it's way to the streets of subhash park & daryaganj. While Daryaganj book vendor market still operates, local vendors have since shifted to Mahila Haat.

From 50-/- book to rare finds and food in the vicinity, you find pretty much everything a student wants here. Come here at morning and call it a day by afternoon.

Watching live play in delhi with Mumma was an experience I never knew I wanted.

Welcome to Episode 4 of Delhiz where we revisit Delhi with a curious lens of a 20 year old. Today we are exploring Mandi House.

Have you ever wondered what it's like to watch a live play in Delhi? you might've pushed away the thought thinking it costs 700-800 for a 2hr show but that's exactly where you are wrong. Most of the weekend plays in Mandi House costs ₹100 for balcony seats.

You can go in alone or with friends. Meet the actors after the play ends and trust me when I say, you will feel very different but not so different from watching a movie.

Constructed by Shiv Nath Prasad in early days of freedom, it was known as Indian Theatre Society today this building is known as Shree Ram Centre for Performing Arts. Actors like Shahrukh Khan, Manoj Bajpayee and Piyush Mishra have performed here during theire early days of theatre.

Once the play is over, head to the narrow lane taking you to an open air cafe/canteen. Which is as old as this building. It's menu is made and priced for students till this date. Don't forget to have their iconic Nimbu Paani which has never lost it's charm in last 30 years. Combine it with egg noodles / spring rolls and you're good to go.

However, if you feel your day is incomplete head over to todarmal marg and enter Triveni Kala Sangam. Barely 2 minutes walk away. As you enter Triveni Kala Sangam you will see an ongoing play or dance practice. The Triveni Terrace Cafe reeks of 90s aesthetics and the gentry fills the air with arts and politics in it's ambience. Since we just had greasy chinese at SRC Canteen we will have one iconic dish here, it's going to be Palak Patta Chaat. Enjoy it while watching the rehearsals.

But that's not all to Triveni Kala Sangam. As you are done with your meal, you can explore multiple painting exhibitions in many rooms of this kala sangam. Hosted by their original artists. Not only paintings, but the sculptures in sculpting garden are one of it's kind, atleast for a non-arty person like me.

S1E1 Chandani Chowk (it's a date)

Welcome to Delhiz where we don't find hidden gems, we just revisit them with curiosity and eyes of a 20 year old.

In this episode we go on a date in Puraani Dilli. For delhi students, date means connaught place, majnu ka tila and hauz khas but there's more Delhi has been offering from centuries ago.

Starting your evening at 300 year old Ghalib ki Haveli will be the perfect way to start your date. Take one shayri each and discuss it in ballimaran street's Badshah halwai on a chicken and aloo samosa date.

It's natural that you're thirsty now. Walk for five more minutes and get 150 year old Nimbu Paani at Ved Prakash lemon on main chandani chowk road. See the jeera masala floating through the sweating thick glass before it's mixed for blasting flavour.

You both have walked a lot, it's time to sit at Shiv Mishthan Bhandar and order two plates of Bedmi Poori with nagodi halwa or jalebi, your choice ghalib.

By the time you're done, the bustle outside is getting busier. It's only logical to get home now and it's fine. Atleast you'll remember now that real Dilli dates not just in cafes, but with Ghalib & Gali of Purani Dilli. by @a_lakh

Exam mein kya Aayega | S1E1 | Socio Economic Offences U1 | GGSIPU BALLB 7th Semester

It's 7th semester of the 10 semester course and exams are due in october. I know how to prepare about exams. One night before the exam. But what if I try to learn the concept and put videos out for it? So this way I can not just learn but figure out pehle se that "Exam mein kya Aayega?"

In this episode we will learn about Socio Economic Offences in India. It started in 1962, when then Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri commissioned K. Santhanam to make a committee report on corruption crimes and recommedations. In 1964, K. Santhanam report was recommend and then finally in 1972 the 47th Law Commission Report of India went in detail to discuss Socio Economic Offences.

In this Unit 1 we will cover only introduction to the these offences as only these are due for internal exams. In next video we will cover case laws for this part of the Unit 1.
