@official__tink has been one of my favorite female artists since I graduated high school over 10 years ago.
To be so pure, beyond talented, and among some of the best to come out of Chicago, you can only dream to work with someone as raw as she.

I was gifted an amazing opportunity to share in her latest music video “Toxic” prod. by @hitmaka & it was nothing short of a blessing ❤️

To @ashellentertainment , @ashanti_as_hell and the entire team, I’m SO grateful you chose me to deliver on screen with this beautifully talented cast. We made memories I’ll cherish forever 🤞🏾thank y’all for creating one of the best moments in my career!

A whole year it’s been. & despite what myth be told, no.. it does not and has not gotten easier.
.
I’ve been contemplating how I would approach this day .. smh it’s still unbelievable.
All of it.
You were the Giant of our family .. bigger than what some may deem a Patriarch. You were the literal light of my life. & I’m still here trying to find my way without you ..
.
Since this day, last year, I’ve tried to come to terms with why you had to leave. Begging to make sense of God’s love in what seems like fires of hell.
.
I’ve held onto the first video in this post for almost over a year now .. it was taken just 4 days after we committed your body to the earth and celebrated your homegoing.
As a group of dancers just looking to express ourselves that day, Jan 4 2020, I had no idea what a dear friend intended to have me display would come across as literal grief and mourning through dance.
My grandfather was my biggest supporter when it came to dance & his church was the first place I laid my feet to perform. It has always been interpretive for me, but this moment came as a literal cry out .. the only way I knew how to express the emotions of losing someone I thought would be here forever. To see me bear my own children , to marry me into Holy Matrimony & to be there to guide me. That’s no longer the case. It’s only been a year and we have forever to go ..
.
12/20/19 was the day you took your last breath. I’m grateful for the life you lived and for the way you loved ME, and the people of God. You taught me that to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord .. so I know you’re looking down from your throne today comforting myself and the rest of our family that’s mourning you still.
