Super cool/surreal feature in the latest issue of @bigtakeovermag! Huge thanks to Jeff Kelson for trekking out to the West Coast to catch us on tour with @rocketshipband and Remedy & Wren and interviewing us over breakfast at Cameo Cafe in Portland. Bonus thanks for including this stellar Mutton Birds CD with the magazines! Photos by @arvelismo taken in Cameo Cafe East by @a_nicedream

the kitchenettes’ very first vinyl release is out today on @slumberlandrecords @galaxytrain_meppan @meritoriorec 🐣
… it’s been fun and special to have this band evolve from my own private musings in my bedroom during the pandemic into some tenderloin practice space hangs with @fresh_apple_emotion , and finally with the addition of @sma11star on the drums! 🧶
Playing in this band has taught me a lot about songwriting and the freedoms of playing in a band with the help of my friends beautiful brains.
I wrote the B-side, “Hummingbird”, about my grandma who always had a sweet treat in her purse. It was one of the first songs I wrote for this band, so it’s real special to finally set it free. @pterodacdyl plays violin on it. 🌬️
@the_telephone_numbers Thomas spent many nights recording us in the Nez cave. 🐱
@chime.school Andy graciously mixed and mastered it for us. 🐈‍⬛
Emily and quoia labored over this beautiful stop motion video for “Sunday Best” and I helped a little bit by making that one butterfly. 🦋
Oh, AND look at this magical insert we made featuring all of our jewelry and gems and trinkets! You get a cool print of it (postcard) with the SLR version, or a full on lithograph poster with the Galaxy Train one! 🚂
And we continue to learn. Music is so fun! Love you bye taken in Music and Dreams by @a_nicedream
