I really woke up one day and said you know what? Ima buy a fuckin house! And that’s just what I did 🤭 Thank you sooooooo much to my realtor @2bemetam! This is the first house she showed me and as soon as I saw it I KNEW it was the one!!! We went to look at many others but nothing hit like this one 🥹🫶🏽 And thank you to my lender, the big dawg, @tbreaux15‼️ He went to war for me with the underwriters and saved me so much money! And once again I apologize for getting on both of yall nerves 😂 I called and texted every day about this house! My daughter LOVES IT! My FIRST YEAR as a Service Bureau and we had almost 2,000 FUNDED RETURNS! 🏆

These awards hit different because I stepped into something completely new and proved to myself that I could build it, grow it, and WIN at it.

Almost 2,000 funded returns represent tax offices that trusted me, preparers who chose my software, businesses that grew, and a vision I refused to play small with.

I went from preparing tax returns… to building my own tax company… to providing software and helping other tax professionals build THEIR businesses.

And in year ONE, we became a Top Service Bureau. 🥹

If I could sit down with the version of me who first got into the tax industry, I could save that girl A LOT of money, mistakes and headaches 😂😭

I learned some things from classes…and some things I had to learn the HARD way.

But one thing this industry has taught me is that you don’t have to know everything to start. You DO have to be willing to learn, market yourself, stay consistent and surround yourself with the right people.

Taxes can change your life, but simply knowing how to prepare a return isn’t enough.

Learn the tax law.
Learn the BUSINESS.
Learn how to market.
Learn how to lead.
And most importantly, never stop being a student. 💚

That’s why when I train my preparers, I’m not interested in only teaching them where to click in the software. I want them to understand what they’re doing, why they’re doing it and how to actually turn this skill into INCOME.

I had to learn a lot of this the hard way.

My team doesn’t have to. 💚

I took a week and went to the middle of nowhere… not to run away from life, but to slow down long enough to hear myself again. 🤍

As women, we carry so many titles. Mom. Boss. Sister. Friend. Daughter. The strong one. The one everybody calls. The one who somehow always figures it out.

And sometimes life gets heavy. Things happen that remind you just how important it is to check in with yourself too.

So for one week, I gave myself permission to do exactly that.

I tried archery, floating meditation, sound meditation, cooking and art classes, way too many spa treatments 😂, new foods, and I actually had time to read a BOOK. Some days I just sat by the water and enjoyed having absolutely nothing to do.

No pressure to be productive. No schedule. No trying to save the day.

Just rest.

And I think more women need to give themselves permission to do that.

We spend so much time pouring into our businesses, our families, our relationships and everyone around us that sometimes we don’t realize our own cup is empty until life forces us to notice.

You don’t always need to have everything figured out. Sometimes you just need to get quiet, pour back into yourself and remember who tf you are.

Rest. Reset. Refocus. Choose yourself a little more.

I’m spilling the tea on how the purchase of my 1st investment property went! From my HVAC unit getting stolen before I could even get to the closing table and arguing with my contractor about upgrades 🤦🏽‍♀️ It was ghetto but also a learning experience🖤
