SAWAAL *Do give it a read* Jo bachpan ki befikri waqt mai ghum gayi, kabhi dhundhi kya? Jin maasoom aakhon se duniya taakte the, woh nazariya gaya kya? Jahan kabhi baste mai anginat Khwaab paalein the, Yaar, parivaar, sansaar; sabse durr kisi kone mai mehfus rakhe the. Ab jab baste ko zimmedariyon se bharne ka waqt aaya Toh janaab, un sapnon ka kya hashr hua, Jaan li ya zinda hi dafna diya? Apne tavajjo ke kaabil jisse samajhte the, Unhone toh fursaton mai bhi yaad nahi kara kabhi Mohabbat toh shuru se ek tarfa kari thi, Magar Dil sach samjhe yeh uski fitrat nahi Agar hazam kar sakta toh yeh zindagi kitni sulji hoti, Kabhi socha kya? Musalsal mehfilon mai, baatein badi chehek ke kari Anjaano ki bheed mai toh, zakhm bhi muskurake bayaan kari Fir inn sabse durr, Apni hi chaar diwaari mai jab bikhar ke rehte ho Tabh, Akhri baar kab khush the, yeh sawaal kabhi khudse kiya? Aur yaaron ki shikayat bohot hai tumse Ki kab tak yeh zindagi ke gam - o - sitam mai ulje rahoge Par ab unhe kya batana, Ki beshak char mai se ek pal ki khushi mili toh hai Lekin Sukoon mai jeena hai asaan, uspe likhna hai mushkil Zakhm kharochna mehez nasha hai tera-mera Iski lat lagna hai asaan, isse nikalna hai mushkil #poetry by @a_thought_cabinet
*FULL POEM IN CAPTION.* Good Old Days On a reunion with my friends not that long ago Having whiskey and coke, while they felt nostalgic about their "good" old days. On my drink, I choked. The memories break open the locked rooms, With it came back the fear and anxiety. I gasp for air, But only thing awaiting me Was searing sensation down my the throat By alcohol and tears Deja vu of my school days set in. I still remember that first day, A new boy; timid and isolated A group approached and feigned a helping hand My worst mistake was assuming they were my friends. Started a cycle of taunts and ridicule On every aspect of myself; however grand or minuscule A lab rat for their pranks, the comic relief of their lives A public punching bag, everyone took turns for a jab and a jibe. Like an animal in a zoo, instigating me to react My futile attempts for.. for mercy and help Were ignored and trashed. And my teachers; those apathetic, rock of people; Were unruffled by these heinous acts. My cries turned into anger, Anger amplified into rage, This led to fits of violence And getting repressed into a cage The best way to silence someone, Isn't to confine their screams But to negate their claims So they all negated, everyone else believed and I was ignored now. Day by day, My will to fight decayed My heart started filling to the brim, By feelings so strong, they raided my mind And derailed my train of thoughts Every day, my body was at war Hindering my very ability to lift a finger A very sad and dire attempt. To prevent satisfying the itch of a trigger. Like walking in an endless tunnel, with a promise of light I withstood it all, in hopes of aid But darkness ensued all along the way And it gnawed away on my hopes, bite after bite The heart and mind; once pure But now after the suffering that they endured They shattered into countless shards Each one hurts and they all left a scar. The worst was yet come.... (Contd. In Comments) by @a_thought_cabinet
*Do Give it a Read!!* Habits Nowadays, I have been waking up early Maybe Papa's taunt actually worked on me Or maybe it's my dread of deadlines that's breaking my sleep I was more of a coffee guy before, But now I firmly believe that evenings are owned by a garam cup chai. Ma will be happy since she is always in favour of tea Anyhow, these habits are here to stay with me. I was a yes-man before, But some friends showed me the value of a "No". Others helped me realize that it's okay to be selfish And not just go with the flow. In the process of calming my overthinking friend I figured out some unique ways, To keep my anxiety-driven thoughts at bay. And Holding grudges was something I did with ease, But that one person always forgave others for her own peace. So now I guess these habits have also found their home in me I never realized, that slowly and surely The people I met left some parts with me Whether they be advice or habits. And like the yin to the yang. They balanced my flaws perfectly. Still, there are days, My flaws show up themselves I don't wake up till evening, And prefer that old bottle of rum instead of either coffee or tea. Overthinking still pushes me down a rabbit hole And the thought of being selfish goes out the back door. Saying "No" becomes an impossible chore, And I said I was done being a pushover Then why do I still defend people who don't deserve it anymore? In the end, I still have my battles to fight And an uncertain future still spirals me out at midnight. However I have people who inspire me, To get up, dust off and write. So, I wish all of them to be always a part of my life. -Piyus #poem #ttt #somethoughts by @a_thought_cabinet
