The Ohio Blue Jackets announced today that the organization has officially accepted an invitation to join the newly formed USA Hockey Development League (DL). The invitation places the Ohio Blue Jackets among an exclusive group of just 29 Tier I organizations selected nationwide to participate in this landmark initiative.

The USA Hockey Development League is a national framework of high-performance youth hockey programs, each fielding one 15U team and one 17U team. Operating under USA Hockey, DL programs identify, train and develop players from across the country to advance to junior hockey, including the USHL and the NAHL, as well as USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program, college hockey and the NHL. Play will begin with the 2027-28 season.

“Being selected as one of only 29 organizations in the nation to join the USA Hockey Development League is an incredible honor and a testament to the dedication of our players, coaches, families, and alumni,” said Ed Gingher, President of the Ohio Blue Jackets. “USA Hockey’s vision for the DL aligns perfectly with our core philosophy: providing our student-athletes with elite-level coaching, premier competition, and an intentional, holistic development path. This platform will provide our players with an unparalleled standard of play and exposure, and we could not be more excited to represent Ohio on this national stage.”

To learn more about this initiative, visit USA Hockey’s Development League website or www.aaabluejackets.com.

The Ohio Blue Jackets will continue to provide further details as USA Hockey finalizes launch parameters for upcoming seasons. by @aaabluejackets

The Ohio Blue Jackets are proud and honored to announce the 12U (2014) team’s acceptance into the 67th edition of the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament! The prestigious tournament is a once in a lifetime experience for players, coaches and families alike and will take place in Quebec City from February 10-21, 2027.

OBJ’s participation in this world class event has been highlighted by the 2001 birth year winning the tournament championship in 2014, and the 1997 and 2004 birth years advancing to the semi-finals in 2010 and 2017, respectively.

This week, the team is hosting the 4th annual OBJ Challenge Cup. This event will feature top teams from the United States and Canada in the 2013-2017 birth years. To help raise funds, the team is hosting a Yeti Raffle that will conclude this Sunday, September 28 prior to the OBJ Challenge Cup Finals.

By supporting the Quebec Fund, you are helping lower the extraordinary costs of travel and participation for the families involved that go above and beyond their season fees.

🏒 Could you change someone’s life this season? ❤️

Every season, young athletes from across the United States, Canada, and even Europe leave home to pursue their hockey dreams in Columbus. While they come here to grow as hockey players, what they need most is a place to call home.

As an Ohio AAA Blue Jackets billet family, you become so much more than a host—you become a mentor, a support system, and an extension of their family. The relationships built through billeting often last a lifetime, impacting not only the player, but the entire host family as well.

As a billet family, you’ll:
🏠 Provide a safe, welcoming home environment.
❤️ Help shape a young person’s future both on and off the ice.
🤝 Build lifelong friendships with players and their families.
💵 Receive a $500 monthly stipend provided by the player’s family.

If you’ve ever thought about making a difference in someone’s life, this is an incredible opportunity to open your home and become part of the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets family.

Happy Father’s Day to all of the incredible hockey dads who give so much of themselves to support their player’s dreams.

Today, we especially remember and honor Matt Low, one of the very best. Matt unexpectedly passed away on June 11, just one day after his son and longtime OBJ goaltender J.D. Low, was selected in the first round of the NAHL Draft.

Our hearts are with J.D., his mother Kristy, his brother Jack, and the entire Low family during this difficult time. We send them our deepest condolences, love, and support.

Services for Matt will be held on Saturday, June 27 (snyderfuneralhomes.com/obituaries/Mat…) by @aaabluejackets
