don’t think i’ve ever been so happy to get 3rd place. first youth boulder final, first podium and first time on the youth national team.

one of the biggest things I wanted to work on going into the comp was my mental game and how I talk to myself, and it reminded me of this.
in 2021 before my first youth nationals I came up to coach kyle and told him how stressed I was because I felt like “I had to do well” or “I should do well.” he told me how the words “should” or “do well” is something to never tell myself, because it doesn’t mean anything. the result should never be why i’m happy with the competition. but rather if I left everything on the wall for every boulder or every route. whether or not I gave everything that I had. reading this back it seems pretty obvious but finally I figured out what he was trying to tell me. I think kyle knew I might not understand it at first, but sometime down the line in my career I would.

going into every round of competition I thought about that moment when he told me that. how nothing was going to be given to me because i’ve worked so hard through out the season, or because I placed “well” in the previous round or because i’ve been training with strong people, or because i’m on team texas so I have too.

but that I had to earn it. #ttxfl

My first Team Trials✌️

Going into this competition I had all sorts of emotions going through my mind. notions of expectations and excitement, but also a lot of sad thoughts. Going into the first day of rope qualification I had been told my Grandmother had passed away that morning. I almost didn’t compete at all because of this, but I did my best to persevere. through the 4 day competition I felt very angry at myself at times. feeling like I should have done more and had to do more, otherwise I wasn’t making her proud felt very prevalent. Even though not every route or boulder went my way, I feel very happy to have tried my best to leave everything I had on the wall.

Thank you to all me family that has supported me. as well as my Dad and friends who came to watch me.

Love you Grandma.

Riverrock 2026

kind of a roller coaster of a weekend. lots to be proud of and lots of opportunities that maybe could’ve gone a better way. regardless I had just as much fun this year as I did last year.
always a good time in Richmond.

Method Underground 26’

pretty eventful weekend, from making finals in the last 5 minutes of qualis then the next morning waking up at 5 am to get on a flight back to texas.
lot to learn from this comp and a lot of missed opportunities in finals, but that’s how it goes sometimes.

been feeling a lot of doubt since team trials, happy to show myself I still know how to boulder against some of the best

long week out in florida
had a lot of fun trying hard in all of my rounds.
couldn’t find too much footing in both mega hard boulder rounds but it let me know what I gotta focus on these 2 weeks before Team Trials.

greatful for these experiences
gotta work harder
