LONG CAPTION WARNING!⚠️

180 days ago, life was at a rough patch. Somewhere in the middle of all the noise and quiet, an idea quietly found me — unexpected, but it stayed. I never thought it would turn into something so personal, something that would lead me here.

Today was supposed to be the last day the journey of making a feature in 180 days. When I started, I thought I’d be done by now. But I’ll be honest, I couldn’t finish the film in these 180 days.

Not because I didn’t try — I did, with everything I had. But sometimes creativity slows you down, and you realise it’s okay, as long as you’re doing justice to the story you believe in.

The production finally started, and I still can’t believe how far it has come. I got so caught up building this world, I forgot to share how much of my world it was becoming too.

From scribbles and voice notes, endless doubts and scattered plans... to these moments on set.
This wouldn’t have been possible without the people who stood by me, who believed even when I was figuring it all out.

Thank you to each one of you for the love, for the messages, for the comments — for staying part of this journey even in the silence.

Seher aur Saad — from a passing thought to a living frame.

It was around 1 a.m. I’d just finished editing for the night.

I closed the script.

Then there was something… I don’t know what.

I looked at it. And looked at it for a while.

Then, without really thinking, I picked it up and held it in my arms.

I felt a little silly, honestly.

Maybe it was just one of those strange moments when you realise how attached you’ve become to something you’ve spent so much of yourself making.

Not just the hours or the work, but all the thinking, rewriting, imagining, filming, shaping, and living with it along the way… I smiled to myself.

17 years ago, there was a kid who dreamed of making his own film, knowing almost nothing about filmmaking, except that he loved stories. Years of learning, unlearning, losing motivation, finding it again, and a whole lot of dreaming later, I’m making that film. I’m still learning, still figuring things out, and deeply grateful to everyone who has supported this journey, believed in this film, and been a part of making it. 🫶🏼❤️

Maybe some dreams aren’t meant to be reached all at once. Maybe they grow with us, year after year, until one day we realise we never really stopped walking towards them. For everyone who has ever had a dream, may you keep walking towards yours. ❤️🎬

I booked my ticket for The Odyssey 45 days ago.

Woke up this morning, put on the track, and drove to the theater with this pure, raw excitement. I was excited to an extent where I actually started feeling a bit silly hehe like a kid. 🥹 But then I thought, what’s the point of being a filmmaker if you can’t get this passionately excited about cinema?

Watching it on IMAX was incredible experience. From acting to the adaptation of the Homer’s work. The framing was beautiful, and the sound design was so massive that I completely forgot I was sitting in a theater. I went through a whole mix of emotions, cheered, and walked out with a huge smile on my face.

I grew up watching movies, even skipping school sometimes just to catch a show. But everything changed for me years ago when I watched Inception. That was my first introduction to Christopher Nolan’s work. He is one of the director I’ve admired the most, and his storytelling is what inspired me to step behind the camera.

Right now, my first independent feature is on the edit table. Piecing a film together frame by frame is a massive grind, but walking out of the theater today just gave me a huge boost of energy. 🤩There is actually a small tribute to him in the opening pages of my project “Seher aur Saad.”

I’m putting this post out there because it keeps me driven. One day, I want to work on this scale, collaborate with the minds that inspired me like Sir Christopher Nolan and make films that leave the audience feeling this exact same level of excitement. Inshallah! ✨ ♥️ fingers crossed 🤞

So many of you have been asking about the film. Thanking you for your love and support is mandatory ♥️ keep the love coming! ✨
The last slide is a little cherry on top for you guys. Seher aur Saad first reveal together on screen. 🤍

There was a time I couldn’t imagine this becoming real. From doubts to drafts. From silence to scenes. First cut. First look at our journey on screen. A lot left to fix. A lot left to learn.
But, honestly I’m soo proud of how far this has come.
Onwards, with faith and patience. ♥️ 🫂
