We’re incredibly grateful for every donation our community makes, but this one feels especially meaningful. 🥹

For his birthday, Levi asked his friends and family to bring donations for AARCS instead of gifts for him. He then brought all of the donations to the shelter, where he got to enjoy a special behind-the-scenes tour.

As Levi shared with his guests: “By supporting AARCS, I hope to make a difference in the lives of rescued animals and help provide them with the care, comfort, and second chances they deserve.” 🥰

We think Levi’s thoughtful birthday wish is a wonderful reminder that kindness starts at any age. Happy belated birthday, Levi and thank you for using your special day to give back to animals in need! 💚

It’s International Rabbit Day, and we’re celebrating with a very hoppy update about Ella! 🐰💚

Ella came into our care in May 2025 with SEVEN babies in tow! She raised her little buns at the shelter, and one by one, they all found forever families of their own. 🏡

After nearly 500 days in our care, Ella finally found her happily ever after last month! 🥹 She’s now home with her forever family, where she gets to spend her days surrounded by her very own people. 🥰

Ella’s story is a reminder of just how wonderful rabbits can be as pets. They’re funny, affectionate, intelligent and surprisingly playful companions. 🥕

Many can be litter box trained, enjoy learning tricks and navigating obstacle courses, and they’re quiet, peaceful pets who can thrive in a variety of homes (including apartments!).

Bam! 💥 Tiny kitten, big cutie.

Bam is one of the hundreds of cats we’ve helped through our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program this year. TNR is a humane way to manage feral cat populations by trapping, spaying or neutering, and returning cats to their colonies. This helps prevent unwanted litters, reducing the number of free roaming cats.

For kittens like Bam who can be socialized, TNR can also mean the beginning of a whole new life. Instead of having to fend for themselves, they can enter our adoption program and find the cozy, comfortable homes they deserve. 😻 🏡

Happy #FosterFriday! Today we’re highlighting gorgeous Greta. 💚

Greta has been in the shelter since the beginning of August and would LOVE a chance to stretch her legs, show off her impressive zoomies and enjoy some quiet time exploring life outside of Safe Haven. 🏞️

New people can be a little overwhelming for her, so she needs slow, calm introductions while she gets comfortable. Once she knows you’re a friend, she bonds quickly, happily leaning in for pets, cuddles, and a treat or two. 🥰

She’s a kind, resilient pooch that’s approximately three years old and 75 lbs. Greta is looking for a patient foster family who can help build her confidence so that she can show the world just how incredible she truly is. 🏡
