I’m usually not one to get too stressed about getting drywall up on a project, but this one is a little different.

With the entire home being spray foam insulated, once that foam goes in and the drywall goes up, making changes later becomes a much bigger endeavor. That means we need to be especially thorough now, making sure we’ve accounted for all the bells and whistles going into this property before we close everything in.

We have a few things to wrap up this week, including partial mechanical and electrical inspections to obtain our pre-drywall approval and get the green light for spray foam. Once the insulation is installed, we’ll return to complete the remaining mechanical and electrical work, call for the final inspections, and then move into drywall.

It’s all about sequencing, coordination, and thinking several steps ahead. The goal isn’t just to get walls closed up. It’s to make sure every detail, every system, and every future consideration has been accounted for before we lose access to it.

Good construction is about what you see when the job is finished. Great construction is about all the things you never see because they were done right before the walls were ever closed. by @aaron_bishop_designs

At the Markdale project, we’re designing a golf gate for a very tight area, and the limited space is driving nearly every aspect of the design.

The owner wanted the gate to operate automatically, but adding a conventional surface-mounted operator would have introduced hardware, visual bulk, and clearance issues that simply didn’t work for the space.

So we went underground.

By using an in-ground gate operator, we can keep the mechanism concealed while maintaining the clean, low-profile appearance the space requires. The smaller the feature, the more important the engineering and planning become. Every inch matters, and the functionality has to be designed into the architecture rather than added afterward.

This is one of those details that may look simple when it’s finished, but the simplicity is the result of solving the technical challenges before fabrication and installation.

Seriously impressed with the simplicity and precision of this CNC-created hood vent from @archwaysandceilings.

Nick and I completely assembled and installed this hood in less than an hour and a half (with rollout and cleanup!!), including getting everything perfectly plumb, level, and square.

A huge part of what made the process so efficient was the design and 3-D modeling that happened before fabrication. Everything we needed was modeled and engineered specifically around the hood liner insert selected by the designer, so when the pieces arrived, we knew they were going to work together.

Because of the height, the hood was designed as two modular sections. We completely assembled both sections, screwed them together, and hung the finished hood on the wall with zero issues.

Every piece fit exactly as it should—no fighting the assembly, no unexpected modifications, and no field fabrication.

Super efficient product, incredibly well thought out, and a great example of how good design + CNC fabrication can make installation almost effortless.

California Pools & Spas (@calpools) absolutely killed it with this backyard at our clients’ home in Rio Verde. The design, execution, and attention to detail are exceptional.

And the view? Even on a slightly cloudy day when Four Peaks is hiding its summit, it’s hard to beat.

At Pinnacle Concierge Group, we’re honored to work alongside exceptional Arizona companies to ensure our clients’ homes are cared for at the highest level. Our job is simple: protect the investment, manage the details, and make estate ownership effortless. taken in Rio Verde, Arizona by @aaron_bishop_designs

A big piece of getting Elementerra off the ground is officially complete.

Our fixture table is built and ready for the shop, which means we’re getting very close to being able to fabricate at the level our clients expect—and deserve. There are still a few odds and ends to finish up, but this was one of the biggest pieces needed to get the doors open and start making some really incredible things.

Elementerra is being built around the idea that truly custom work shouldn’t be limited by what’s readily available. Bespoke architectural metal, hand-blown glass, 3D printing, CNC fabrication, and fine woodworking will all come together under one roof to create pieces that are designed specifically for the space, the architecture, and the people who live in it.

We’re not interested in making something that simply fits.

We’re building a shop capable of making something that couldn’t have existed anywhere else.

Elementerra officially launches Fall 2026, stay tuned.

Not every construction failure is caused by bad design. Sometimes it’s the execution.

This home is only five years old, but we’re looking at a complete tear-off and replacement of more than 130 feet of skylight spanning multiple rooms and wrapping around a suspended fireplace. The architectural vision was beautiful. Unfortunately, the installation fell far short of what a project like this demanded, and it appears the system was set up for failure from day one.

These are some of the hardest conversations I have with homeowners. No one expects a multimillion-dollar home to require this level of reconstruction so soon after it’s built.

Luxury homes don’t just need great architects—they need exceptional specialty trades. Complex waterproofing, custom glazing, and intricate flashing details aren’t areas where choosing the lowest bidder saves money. They demand experienced craftspeople who understand that every detail matters, because one mistake can turn an incredible design into a very expensive problem.

A great design deserves equally great execution. That’s the difference between a home that impresses on move-in day and one that performs for decades. taken in Paradise Valley Country Club by @aaron_bishop_designs

From Ranch to Refined.

This mid-1980s ranch home is getting a complete transformation, blending the warmth of Modern Mission architecture with the clean simplicity of Scandinavian minimalism. Working with a repeat client is always rewarding, especially when it’s about creating a home that evolves with their family.

With five growing kids, this remodel is focused on more than beautiful finishes—it’s about reimagining the layout to improve flow, functionality, and everyday living. Warm natural woods, handcrafted textures, earthy materials, and clean lines come together to create a timeless home that feels both sophisticated and inviting.

We’re excited to take an already solid foundation and elevate it into a space designed to serve this family for decades to come. taken in Pinnacle Peak Estates, Scottsdale, Arizona by @aaron_bishop_designs

Another big step forward at Markdale.

We’ve installed all the windows and finished priming the interior framing, putting us in position to complete the utility rough-ins and prepare for closed-cell spray foam insulation.

The underside of the deck lid and walls will be fully sealed, while the backside of the ceiling will serve as an active ductless return for the home’s ERV system. It’s a complex mechanical design that’s changed our sequencing a bit, but that’s all part of building a high-performance home.

We’re making great progress and getting closer every day. taken in Mesa Country Club by @aaron_bishop_designs

It’s hard to believe these two videos are from the same house.

The first shows the Markdale project during demolition, when we were stripping the home down and preparing for a complete transformation. The second is a walkthrough after concrete work and framing, where the new vision is finally taking shape.

The enlarged openings to the golf course, combined with the now-connected kitchen, dining, and living spaces, completely change how the home feels. The flow, natural light, and views are already on full display.

We’re now dialing in the final framing details for highly personalized spaces like Gina’s closet and Erik’s toy box, while coordinating custom features that will make the finished home feel effortless and unique to them.

The best luxury homes aren’t defined by what’s visible at the end—they’re defined by the thoughtful planning happening behind the walls today. taken in Mesa Country Club by @aaron_bishop_designs

One of the less glamorous—but most important—parts of luxury home ownership is staying ahead of maintenance before small issues become expensive problems.

Today, Pinnacle Concierge Group is at the beautiful Ascent at The Phoenician performing annual HVAC maintenance for several homes enrolled in our preventative maintenance program. These routine service visits are about much more than changing filters and checking refrigerant levels. They give us the opportunity to evaluate the overall health of each system, identify potential concerns, and address issues before they impact comfort or cause unnecessary damage.

On one home that was only a year old, we discovered a failed safety switch—something that could have easily gone unnoticed until it created a larger problem. It’s a great reminder that even newer homes benefit from regular inspections and proactive care.

Maintaining your luxury estate while you’re away is just one small part of what we do. From scheduled maintenance and vendor coordination to seasonal inspections and property oversight, our goal is simple: provide peace of mind knowing your home is being cared for as if it were our own.

The best repairs are the ones you never have to make because the problem was caught early. taken in Ascent at The Phoenician by @aaron_bishop_designs

One of the biggest misconceptions in construction is that adjustments to the schedule automatically mean delays. In reality, a well-managed project calendar is a living document. By building in float days, maintaining proper trade coordination, and staying flexible, we’re able to keep multiple crews moving simultaneously while making critical decisions in real time.

Today was a perfect example. We were coordinating final framing details that directly impact utility routing, while also locking in locations for several custom features we’ve been developing behind the scenes. These are the moments that make or break the quality of the finished product.

What looks like organized chaos from the outside is actually one of the most rewarding parts of the process. This is where a project truly starts to take shape. Seeing potential conflicts and interferences in real time allows us to solve problems before drywall, tile, millwork, and finishes ever touch the space. Every issue identified now is one less thing to tear apart later.

This stage is where my brain lives. While we’re physically building the framework, I’m already walking through the finished spaces in my head—thinking about sight lines, material transitions, lighting, hardware placement, and how every detail will ultimately come together. It’s essentially doing all the math backwards, starting with the finished vision and working our way to the structure that supports it.

Watching those two worlds overlap—the technical and the creative—is what makes this career so much fun.
