Finding your personal style is a f****** journey, BUT it’s more about self discovery than anything else

It’s no fun being trying to be someone else’s Pinterest board, it’s more enjoyable to learn to be your own

Your personal style is an expression of who you are as an individual, and each phase you go through you build a deeper understanding of yourself

I used to feel bored throughout day until I realized boredom is the root cause of 90% of life’s problems.

Disclaimer: By “you”, I’m really speaking to the old me but maybe you’ll resonate.

You didn’t do what you said you were gonna do so now you procrastinate (you’re bored).

Or something throughout the day threw you off and now you don’t want to do anything so you react with boredom.

Boredom leads to dead ends. You hang around people you shouldn’t be with, indulge in vices, and build up a bad attitude towards life.

You only get one shot at this lifetime.

So be good to yourself. Set goals for the day. Dress up for yourself. A keep building onward 🏡🧱

I used to be insanely anxious meeting new people.

For no real reason, I found people intimidating. Then I realized the problem wasn’t them. It was my own lack of confidence and a bad habit of seeing others as greater than I.

So I worked on my character. I built my personal style through trial, error, and experimentation.

Now I walk into rooms well-groomed, well-dressed, and with a positive mental attitude.

That’s really all you can do: present the best of who you truly are and leave knowing you were remarkable.

1. I’ll feel like I’m lazy and undisciplined, even though I’ll go work for 10, 12, sometimes 14-hour days. It’s funny how we can recognize everyone else’s effort before our own. I’m learning to give myself grace.

2. I’ve been an overthinker. I’ve waited to make the “right” decision that sometimes, by the time I made it, it became the wrong one.

3. I found a good job in my early 20s. Good pay. Good career. Good on paper. But I got comfortable, traded personal ambition for corporate growth, and eventually realized every day felt the same. The hamster wheel was spinning, and so was I.

4. I always said my health was a priority. But there’s a difference between saying something matters and living like it does. I wish I learned that sooner.

5. Most people think I’m an extrovert. Truth is I like keeping to myself. I enjoy my own company and I’m okay with that.

6. I’ve met and dated beautiful women but I haven’t met the wife/mother I want to build a future with. People say this is the age to settle down, but I’d rather be patient for the right life than rush into the wrong one.

7. I dreamed of being completely financially free in my early 20s. Now I’m in my late 20s, and I’m not all the way there yet. Social media makes everyone else’s timeline look faster. I’m learning to trust mine and trust God’s plan for it.

8. Turning 30 in three years sounds both terrifying and exciting. Your 20s go fast. Mine aren’t over yet and there’s still plenty of time to end them with a bang.

—

Social media has a funny way of making everyone’s life look finished.

Mine isn’t. And if you’re reading this, yours probably isn’t either.

I’m Aaron. I’m making content around fashion and personal style, building something meaningful, all while being on a journey being myself, being good to myself, and being good to the good people around me.

Still building. Still becoming the best I truly am.

If you’re looking for a place to come vibe, welcome in 🌅🤙
