90% of men I talk to are tolerating:

· Unfulfilling & stressful careers
· Their partner
· Loneliness
· A lack of choice & feeling trapped
· The need for unhealthy habits to numb out & escape

Too much denial, fear & settling

Not enough boldly going after what they REALLY want

Do men have enough outlets to talk about what's on their minds?

I'm not talking about down the pub watching the football

Or small talk in the locker room after practice or gym

I mean real-time to get things off their mind, so they don't have to drag every day’s baggage into the next

There's been a lot lost about how men should be or a good man is

Much of which is because there are no rites of passage anymore & many, like me, come from single-parent households where we had to become the male role model... With no example to follow

What if we could get together in a zoom room or face to face & start stripping back the layers of what society says a man "should" be & take back the power to decide what kind of man you want to be

- No more feeling like you’re falling short of expectations
- No more going from achievement to achievement feeling nothing or not knowing why
- No more trying to keep up with the Jones
- No more being Mr Nice guy out of fear people won't like you if you aren't

- No more bottling up your feelings because you're afraid of what might happen if you let them out

You just get to be whomever the f*** you want to be... & feel peace & fulfilment in doing so

This won't be a drumming circle or talking about your feelings from start to finish

It's about creating a safe space where we can share with our brothers without judgement & work through our sh** to become better men

For us & everyone in our lives who deserves the best version of us

That's easy for you to say,

You've got it all figured out.

You've got all the trappings of success.

By society's standards, you've "made it!"

Have you ever heard this and thought

"Yeah, you're right. Thank you!" *High fives*

Or did you feel like a fraud... Like you were about to be found out at any moment

Like you had to keep scrambling to work harder to keep up appearances

Or risk everything falling apart in front of everyone and losing their respect?

We all crave recognition and esteem from our peers but if we give their opinion more value than we give our own, then we learn not to trust ourselves

Fear only has power over you when you've given all your power away

I often get asked the difference between a coach, a mentor, a consultant & a counsellor/therapist.

Hopefully, doing this video will shed some light on the situation... Strangely, doing it also made me wonder whether Spielberg's movies come out exactly the way he imagines them too.

What do you think of this quote?

I think there might be something to it.
When you think about negative things that have happened in the past, you might remember what you learnt so you're not making the same mistakes twice, as well as any resources, knowledge or anything else helpful you picked up... But you might not want to take too much from that negative experience as you don't want history to repeat itself.

Equally, when you think about positive experiences, you might remember the tips and strategies that worked for you, but not let it allow you to be overconfident.
While we can take lessons from experiences, no 2 experiences are exactly the same, so its good to use them as a guide, stay flexible in our thinking and be observant as to whether we're on track to reaching our outcome or whether we need to make any slight adjustments to ensure we do.
