In 2014, I was a recently returned missionary, and my neighbor @greg_moon_mufilmartist knew that I was interested in film, so he invited me to join him on the set of Robert Duvall's newest movie, Wild Horses.

While the crew were setting up for the first shot of the day, Mr. Duvall spotted me and Greg, and instantly approached with a huge smile. He said he'd love to get to know me, invited us to hang out with him for a few minutes in his personal trailer, and asked me to call him Bob.

Bob had heard that I recently returned home from serving a mission, and he was very curious to learn about it. So I answered all his questions about the @churchofjesuschrist. And in return, he answered my questions about filmmaking, and recounted anecdotes of working with Marlon Brando on The Godfather.

Bob's wife Luciana is from Argentina, and I had served in Paraguay which borders Argentina, so we bonded over our shared knowledge of Spanish and South American culture.

What was originally supposed to be just a few minutes turned into an hour-long conversation, and to this day it's one of the most memorable conversations of my life.

Bob was so loving and charitable, and just wanted to be nice to this random young kid who was interested in becoming a filmmaker. His kindness will never be forgotten.

Rest in Peace, Bob. I know that God was awaiting your return to the Spirit World and embraced you with open arms. by @aaronhinton92

Ronen Rubinstein is a flurry of vibrant reds, pinks, and oranges. We bonded over our shared love of music, especially Kings of Leon and Mac Miller.

Ronen’s favorite music blasted across the set, and as the stereo changed from track to track, you could see how the variations in sound affected Ronen’s body. How he walked, the postures he assumed, whether he was drumming on his lap or playing air guitar.

“Music is around me all the time,” Ronen said. “I have a ritual when I’m at work in my trailer. There’s certain music I need to listen to before I go on set, especially depending on what the scenes are.”
