Many people wonder why Maddie and I chose to get married at the time we did. Not many college guys are getting married during school, and from an outside perspective it would seem to jeopardize everything I had going for me with hockey.

When it came down to it though, Maddie and I wanted to do it God’s way. In a culture that either despises marriage altogether or tells you to “take life in first,” we decided to trust that God’s way is better and that’s exactly how it has been. Are there hard days? Of course. But we’re committed to each other and God is with us.

The Minnesota Wild are holding their 2nd Annual Faith and Family Night on Tuesday, February 27. The night features a pregame gathering to hear testimonies from former Wild players Nate Prosser and Eric Staal, emceed by Wild chaplain Bill Butters, about how faith in Jesus was formative to their careers. Event starts at 5:40 p.m.
