STREETS OF EGYPT

This country has my heart. What inspires me most is the way Egyptians approach the challenges of daily life with a deep sense of togetherness. More than 22 million people live in Cairo, which means you are never really alone. In a Western context, people would tend to withdraw and seek false protection in anonymity, but here, despite the crowds, people are still open and approachable. So I tried to capture the little things that shape most people’s everyday lives in order to show my admiration and respect.

The density of Cairo is unbelievable. It feels like an endless urban labyrinth. Every back door holds a secrets and can lead you to a new world, literally. You’re never done exploring. After spending a week there, I saw the city from above for the first time when visiting the Saladin Citadel, and the feeling was incredible. taken in Cairo, Egypt by @aaronkebe

For me, these images have a very personal value and remind me that living a self-centered life is simply naive. There are 8 billion of us. 8 billion life stories. Be aware of that.

Wir freuen uns sehr, euch zu unserer allerersten Ausstellung LA LA LAND einzuladen – eine Auseinandersetzung über Lebensrealitäten und Verbindungen, die wir oft vergessen, verdrängen oder manchmal gar nicht wahrnehmen.

Gezeigt werden 9 fotografischen Arbeiten und 4 Kurzgeschichten, welche sich mit dem Verhältnis von Ich und Wir beschäftigen.
