Thank you @harpercollins for the #gifted copy in exchange for an honest review! #EpicTastemaker

Adam is forced to move back to his sleepy hometown in Maine, back with his family struggling to maintain their inn that no longer gets the same amount of holiday visitors. It’s also clear why: it’s starting to look less rustic and more rundown. He never expected that the contractor he hires for the renovations, Graham, to be the one that can repair his heart. Will the Inn, and their romance, last?

I am absolutely obsessed with this #debut novel by @aaronkyte! It has all the Christmas cheer mixed with MM romance and a grumpy/sunshine trope! It’s the down-on-their-luck holiday miracle type of story that will always get you in your feels, and it was so endearing to see how patient Graham was with Adam as Adam was picking up the broken pieces of his life. This story was so adorable on its own, but adding in the narration by the ICONIC Cooper North made this such an extra special holiday treat! This is the perfect novel to settle in with on a cozy winter day, enjoy the antics, and get in the holiday spirit.

🎄📚 ARC Review: A Christmas Inn, Maine by Aaron Kyte 📚🎄

When Adam Wheatley returns to his Maine hometown after a breakup and career setbacks, he discovers his aunt’s beloved inn is in danger of closing. Determined to save it with a Christmas Eve reopening, Adam takes on a renovation project that quickly becomes more complicated than expected… especially when a charming, kindhearted contractor named Graham enters the picture. ❤️

I REALLY enjoyed this one! Adam is a little high-strung, but he’s such a fun character, and I absolutely loved his obsession with lists. 😂 After a truly terrible month, he finds himself on a path toward figuring out what he actually wants from life versus what he thinks he’s supposed to want. He also learns that asking for help isn’t a failure… and sometimes, a change of plans is exactly what you need.

And Graham? PERFECT book boyfriend material. He’s sweet, caring, hardworking, and just so easy to love.

I also adored the meddling side characters, the cozy small-town Christmas setting, and especially Adam’s relationship with his aunt. Watching everyone come together to save the inn was such a lovely part of the story!

With great banter, a heartwarming romance, and plenty of holiday charm, this was a quick, cozy, feel-good read that left me smiling. If you love small-town Christmas romances with lovable characters and a little found-family magic, add this one to your holiday TBR!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

💬 QOTD: What’s your favorite holiday romance setting… a cozy inn, a snowy small town, a Christmas tree farm, or a big-city Christmas?

Thanks so much to all the bookish people in my life – friends, family, writing partners, readers, bookstagrammers, all the marketing and publicity folks at @harpercollins, @harpercollinsca, and @avonbooks, as well as my amazing agent Sara @megibowliterary, and my fantastic and fantastically patient editor Grace.

Cup is full today, for sure. 🥰 by @aaronkyte

What a week! Thank you to everyone who truly showed up this week and went on a ride with us, on-stage and off, the producers, moderators, and staff from each event, Krista, Stefania, Lauren, Sabrina and everyone from the @harpercollinsca team.

To those who drove hours to get to the events, to those who made girls nights of it, mother-daughter nights, the green flag men in the crowds, everyone who waited in long lines, and every other romantic in the room, too — We laughed a lot and cried a little. Thank you.

Natalie, I’m so happy to be getting to know you. Aaron, I’ll text you later 😉
And Becs, I genuinely could not have gotten luckier to share this time with someone as funny, kind and as generous as you. What a gift. (For everyone wondering, she’s exactly as rad as you thought she’d be)

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting @aaronkyte last night and watching him do an incredible job moderating the conversation with BK Borison and Danielle McKechnie. The questions were so great and Aaron had me cackling multiple times! I’m really hoping to catch him moderating more events but not before we celebrate him and his upcoming novel, A Christmas Inn, Maine!

A Christmas Inn, Maine by Aaron Kyte
Release Date: October 13, 2026

So this book is set in Maine AND takes place during Christmas… was this literally made for me?! 😂🎄 Kyte even writes about a river that branches off the Kennebec, seconds from my apartment, so I was already VERY invested.

And the Maine setting?! I LOVED how it felt like Maine without constantly reminding you that you’re in Maine. All the little details had me stopping to go “YES! Maine!” 10/10 representation for me.

Now, the plot! Adam’s life really said let’s ruin EVERYTHING at once. He loses his job, gets dumped in the most diabolical way, loses his home, & ends up back home helping his aunt save her struggling inn before Christmas. Naturally, he decides to renovate the entire place & plan a Christmas Eve reopening. What could possibly go wrong?

Enter Graham, the ridiculously charming contractor who happens to be Adam’s old high school crush. 👀🔨 These two were SO CUTE. 🥹❤️ Adam is anxious, stubborn, chaotic, & determined to do everything himself. I loved watching him learn that he doesn’t have to carry everything alone. And Graham?! Kind, patient, thoughtful, supportive… basically everything Adam needed while Adam insisted he needed nobody. Their relationship was SO sweet!

This gave me cozy Christmas Hallmark energy! 🎄❄️ The inn, holiday traditions, small-town charm, banter, chaos, & Adam’s lists had me CACKLING. And THAT bathroom/shower scene?! 👀

Overall, such a fun, cozy Queer holiday romance, & getting a Christmas romance set in MY state made my Maine-loving heart very happy. 🎄

Tropes & Vibes:
🎄 Christmas Romance
🏡 Small Town
🔨 Contractor + City Boy
👀 Old Crushes to Lovers
🏠 Saving the Family Inn
🥰 Found Family
🎬 Hallmark Movie Energy

QOTD: What’s your favorite setting for a Christmas romance?! 🎄📚

Thank you @avonbooks for the gifted eARC! All thoughts are my own, BUT if you have a spare physical ARC… my home is cozy, in Maine, & I WILL take it on field trips around the state 😂📚🎄 by @aaronkyte
