The Northern Lights were probably one of the coolest things I’ve seen other than the solar eclipse last month. #astrophotography #photooftheday #photography taken in Sylvania, Ohio by @aaronsprague.astro

Well tonight was definitely unexpected, a large meteor shower and the northern lights combined. #astrophotography #photography taken in Sylvania, Ohio by @aaronsprague.astro

I think I don’t have enough setups. #astrophotography #photography #astronomy #setup taken in Toledo, Ohio by @aaronsprague.astro

The crescent nebula in the constellation Cygnus. This target is always stunning and a joy to process. As you can see, there’s a lot of hydrogen alpha (the red gas) in this region. The crescent nebula itself is a result of a wolf rayet star. #astrophotography #photography #astronomy taken in Toledo, Ohio by @aaronsprague.astro

This project has been an absolute pain due to how faint everything is, combined with how I never process broadband data and this is my first broadband project for months at this point. This is the iris nebula and the ghost nebula on the right. This vast region of space is full of dust reflecting the light of other stars. #astrophotography #photography #astronomy #space taken in Toledo, Ohio by @aaronsprague.astro

New Mount, I decided to order the EQ-AL55i pro, which will essentially double my payload capacity for not an insane price. I’ve read this mount has some quirks, but nothing I’m necessarily worried about, it is a budget mount after all. I’m going to use it tonight to test out and continue my current project #astrophotography #setup #photography #telescope #space taken in Toledo, Ohio by @aaronsprague.astro

Decided I didn’t want to start a new project during a relatively full moon, so I decided to image the entire region that the elephants trunk nebula resides in. This large region is roughly the width of 10 full moons across, so very large in our sky. #astrophotography #photography #astronomy #space taken in Toledo, Ohio by @aaronsprague.astro

24 hours of total exposure time on the elephants trunk nebula. This marks my longest project yet, and it could be even better if I wasn’t imaging during a full moon for part of it. It still could use some work in some areas but I’m happy with it #astrophotography #photography #astronomy #space taken in Toledo, Ohio by @aaronsprague.astro

What a summer in terms of astrophotography, with a somewhat new setup being put together halfway through. Despite the overall cloudy weather I had a lot of projects completed and endless hours of images. Looking forward to the upcoming fall and winter, as there are many targets I look forward to revisiting and discovering. #astrophotography #ᴘʜᴏᴛᴏᴅᴜᴍᴘ #recap #astronomy #photography taken in Toledo, Ohio by @aaronsprague.astro

After about 1.5 months of agony and cloudy skies, I have finally collected enough SII data to get an image I’m happy with. After this project with my color camera, I’ve realized now that I’m ready for the jump to monochrome imaging, after I get a bigger mount of course. So once I save up enough money, my images will hopefully jump in quality once I get it all figured out #astronomy #astrophotography #photography #space taken in Toledo, Ohio by @aaronsprague.astro

2 hours on the pillars of creation (center of the eagle nebula). My current plan is imaging these until they set, and then hopping to my other project I’m working on for the rest of the night. #astro #astrophotography #astronomy #photography #space taken in Toledo, Ohio by @aaronsprague.astro
