•SHREK the Musical TYA- OPENING DAY•

What a gift this show has been to me and everyone involved. It brought us so much joy and happiness at the perfect moments. I’ve had the time of my life leading this beautiful group of humans as director and choreographer, and I love each of them so much! Grateful beyond measure to my swampy sidekicks, @elliekahn_ and @sallerinaballerina for bringing your amazing hearts, leadership and collaboration to this process! To @gabriel_631_ , @sara.clark.03, @bethanycheek, @breillsbooper, @christianflemingdesign, @codymedley and @justicecraig3, thank you all for your beautiful designs, execution, and commitment to making a fun swamp as excellent as it can be! I’ve loved every minute of it.

And to this cast: never has there ever been freakier freaks and sillier fairytales, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. You’ve lit a spark in me that will burn for a long time to come. Each of you are forces to be reckoned with and I’m grateful to have shared this little moment in time together. Thank you for being the most “Yes, and…” group of artists I’ve ever worked with! WHEN MOMMA MOVES, WE ALL MOVE! I LOVE YOU ALL!

“If your heart is in your dream, no request is too extreme”

2 AM.

I’m wide awake with gratitude…and maybe too much coffee.

All I can think about is that I promised myself in January that 2026 would be the year when I would find my way back into performing and directing. Back to my full self.

Then, I was cast in a musical this summer.

Tonight, I sat in rehearsal as director and choreographer on a show I’m so proud to open next week.

Dreams do come true. And more dreams are unfolding by the day.

My father called me a “dreamer” at a young age, and that word etched itself on my heart. I’ve lived by that ideology all of my life.Some might say even to my own detriment. But, a dream truly is a wish your heart makes. And I’m making some really big wishes lately. And I know my dreams will come true. Someday, somehow. Because I know the Dream Giver. And I know there’s a purpose for my dreams. I’ve always believed he wouldn’t give us the Dream if he didn’t have purpose for it. Your dreams have purpose too. Wish upon the star. Make the dream a reality. Tell the Dream Giver what your dream is and watch him grant it. It may look different than you had planned, but trust the process. So, find that star and send those wishes up tonight. The Dream Giver is listening. 💫✨

Having the opportunity to swing this incredibly challenging show over the last few months has been something I’ll cherish for a very long time. But even more than the work itself, the friendships and memories that were made throughout the process will live on in my heart forever. I love my Islander fam!

•My 37th Birthday•

Ya’ll know I love a birthday party. But this year, with life being as crazy as it has been recently, I told my friends that I simply wanted:
1. A good cup of coffee and breakfast in the morning
2. To spend the majority of the day in nature, disconnected and recharging
3. Good food with my sweet friends to close out the day.

And wow, did they ever go above and beyond to treat me so kind and celebrate me so well. Thank you, @w3st0n21 , for literally spending the night at my house the night before to make sure that every moment was special and I wasn’t alone for any of it. And, for driving me through the mountains and taking me on hikes while I rambled about life and laughed and cried and soaked it all in. You made my day.

And then, this incredible group of humans that I’m so blessed to have in my life, all went together to buy me a PORTABLE DISHWASHER for my apartment!!!!! (iykyk I HATE handwashing dishes…hate it.) This gift seems silly to some, but it has literally changed my daily life for the better. I cant imagine a better way to actually EXPERIENCE the love and support of my community than having a need like this met, without ever asking for it. That’s what being SEEN and LOVED feels like, right there.

Lastly, I don’t get to celebrate these moments with my family as often as I’d like, but I got the BEST gift of all that morning, from my two favorite little humans in the entire world.🥹 swipe to the end to enjoy my gift, too. My boys make my world spin and I cherish every video and picture I get from them. This one is extra special. Thank you mom and sis for making sure I felt loved from ya’ll and the boys, as well. I love y’all so much.

So, I’m 37. And I love it. I love my life, I love who I am today and who I am becoming. I’m blessed beyond measure with a beautiful family, incredible friends, the joy of working in my passion, good health, a body that carries me through the hard times and lets me enjoy the adventures of life, a heart that becomes softer as the days go on, and a hope that the future is brighter than the past.

I love birthdays. And this year, it was a really special one, indeed.

•Emily and Nathan’s Wedding•

•I had the most humbling privilege of officiating the wedding of two of my dearest and closest friends. @emilyviancourt, my official “Adult Best Friend” and @nathan_chesterr, the kindest soul I’ve ever known, asked me to share in their beautiful day and I couldn’t have been happier to say yes to that request. What a time we had! It’s easy to celebrate these two love birds, and it was a weekend filled with so much love and joy and memories!! Aaron Thomas Moore, you have no idea how happy I am that you were born.

From the second I met you, I knew we were going to be friends forever. Little did I know that years later you’d be the one standing beside @nathan_chesterr and me, officiating one of the most important moments of our lives. I don’t think you’ll ever know what that meant to us.

Thank you for being my best friend, for always showing up with your whole heart and for making the people in your life feel insanely loved, for being the best officiant Nathan and I could have ever asked for, and most importantly, for being the Judy to my Mickey. Thank you for making my life so much better just by being in it.

I hope you felt as special today as you make everyone around you feel.

I’m A Newfoundlander!

Wow.
I’m so grateful to get to share that, after several (too many) years away from the stage as an actor, I am getting to return to the process and stretch those muscles, once again, with @vareptheatre production of “Come From Away” as the Male Swing covering THREE incredible character roles: Oz, Claude, and Nick!

Leading the charge is our superb director @rickhammerly, accompanied by our brilliant choreographer @thebrandonkelly and of course, my darling dream of a music director, @elliekahn_. Not to mention, I get to report to the best stage manager this side of the James River, the ever perfect @abbybobsled . What a dream team! Honored to be working with these wonderful folks.

We are already a week and a half into the rehearsal process, and I’m having the time of my life! Swing work is no joke: learning three roles at once while watching our incredibly talented playing cast do the work onstage is a new mental gymnastic that I’m finding so challenging and rewarding, already, and we’ve just begun.

Anyone that knows me well, knows that my artist soul has been starving to just “do the work” again. Yes, I work in theatre everyday. YES, I love my full-time job as a production manager. YESSSS I’m lucky to work in the industry that is also my passion. But…for me, nothing can ever compare to being a part of the creative process as an actor, director, or choreographer. So, I’m thankful I can layer that on top of what I’m already doing and find that fulfillment, once again.

If you’re in the Richmond area this summer, or even if you’re not, make plans to come see Come From Away! I don’t have any planned dates that I’ll be on yet, but even still, this show and cast is a MUST SEE!

In honor of Easter Sunday: I had the humbling privilege to join the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church choir and Orchestra and my incredibly gifted and kind friend and tenor soloist Ian Lane last Sunday to sing “The Seven Last Words of Christ”, a French oratorio by Theodore Dubois. My first time using my instrument in over three years. It was challenging, rewarding, and refreshing to share in this beautiful music as we remember the sacrifice made in holy week. I carry a deep faith in my heart, and greatly cherished the chance to share in that faith with many like-minded believers last week.

This video is my solo in the oratorio, entitled “the fourth word”. So grateful for this opportunity, once again.

It’s so easy to celebrate @emilyviancourt and I had the best time getting to do just that at her bachelorette weekend earlier in February, so many laughs and late nights and good vibes for our vibe Queen! I love my adult best friend, the Mickey to my Judy, so much and can’t wait to hear her say “I DO” in a few short months!❤️
