What a great market! Thank you to everyone who came out to Art Walk on Union yesterday in Concord! Met a lot of new friends along with a whole slew of returning customers, and I think it’s safe to say we all had a fantastic day! It never gets old connecting with people, it’s truly my favorite thing about this kind of work. And to have my daughter by my side all day to keep me company, on top of my parents and a few good friends stopping by (!!) made the day that much better. Oh and to sell a large original on top of all of that! It’s a rush that never gets old. Thank you to my collectors 🥰😘 Big shout out to @cabarrusartscouncil for hosting a flawless event yet again! The support you offer this little art community has a gigantic impact. And last but certainly not least, thank you to the big clouds in the sky for holding off on the downpour that happened shortly after we were all packed up in the car and driving home. 😅 This was my last market for a good while, I’ve decided to slow my roll on events so that I can properly refill my cup and get back to making some brand new art. “As an artist and small business owner, Art Walk on Union is always one of my favorite events of the year.” Meet Aaryn Nutter of Aaryn West®, a self-taught watercolor artist and experienced textile designer based right here in Cabarrus County. Her art-centered lifestyle brand features original paintings, art prints, paper goods, and other giftable pieces, available through pop-up markets and local boutiques. With a 20-year career designing graphics and textiles for the fashion industry, Aaryn brings an optimistic approach to color and a love of expressive, feminine florals to her work. Her watercolor paintings are inspired by “a youthful curiosity and a profound gratitude for the beauty and magic of nature,” using the spontaneous, unpredictable nature of watercolor inks to create a process she describes as “a moving meditation through paint.” And for Aaryn, being a local artist is a big part of the fun. “Being a resident of Cabarrus County, it’s one of the most exciting opportunities I have to connect with local customers and other businesses right in my own backyard.” Come meet Aaryn and shop her work at Art Walk on Union, Saturday, September 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Concord! This month, the Wellness Center is opening its doors for four beautiful experiences: 🌿 Alchemy Tuesday: Fire Cider September 22 | 5:30–7:30 PM Gather in the Alchemical Herbarium to learn the folk tradition of fire cider and create your own seasonal herbal preparation to take home. 🌾 The Empowered Woman Gathering: The Sacred Harvest September 23 | 6–9 PM An intimate evening for women to gather in sisterhood, honor what this season has grown within us, and celebrate our own sacred harvest. 🎨 Watercolor Flowers + Tea with Aaryn West September 26 | 1–4 PM An afternoon of watercolor, beautiful tea, creativity, and play with the incredibly talented Aaryn West. 🌙 The Alchemy of Surrender September 26 | 6–8 PM Close the day in The Jade Room with an immersive evening of sound, stillness, nervous-system exhale, and sacred surrender. hi friends! it’s been a good while since I’ve hopped on here to say hi, and perhaps reintroduce myself to some of my newer friends and followers. first and foremost, thanks for following along with my brand Aaryn West. I’m Aaryn - an artist and textile designer based out of Charlotte, NC, creating whimsical products and fine art with my flowing and colorful watercolor paintings. I’m a painter, a textile designer, a card maker, a photo taker. A mom, a wife, a yogi, and lover of funk and soul music. I’m still a child that loves to make people laugh and celebrate their every win. I’m a people person, through and through. I love hot coffee and driving by myself and early bedtimes. I don’t consider myself a visual person - I think I’m an auditory person. Or maybe a tactile person - I even have a favorite type of fabric because it feels good.
