The Female Velvet scoter/ Svärta
Looks different from the male.
After breeding the male is gone and the females taking care of the chicks.
This summer I saw a female with over 50(?) chicks, drifting on the sea. #velvetscoter #svärta #fåglar #fåglarinpåknuten #birds taken in Skelleftehamn by @aasa.le

The Velvet scooter/ Svärta is one of the favourites at the cabin in the north. A bird that I can watch from distance sitting at our dock.

During summer at the cabin in the north. I love how the Redwings/ Rödvingetrast is singing the whole light summernights.
And it seems like it’s a couple breeding on every property. A shy bird, and not the easiest target, but sometimes I’m lucky😃 #redwing #rödvingetrast #birds #fåglar #fåglarinpåknuten taken in Skelleftehamn by @aasa.le

A short walk from the cabin in the north, there’s a lake. Where the Osprey/Fiskgjuse is breeding every year.
This year the couple was rebuilding their nest, then suddenly the male was gone. Someone saw him with a fishing line around his leg! 😢
We visit again but couldn’t see him.
It was a surprise when we saw the female with a chick in the nest.
Hope that everything went well and that the female managed to raise the chick.
And that she’ll come back next year with a new male!

Just another Brambling/Bergfink
(Hard to photograph them, flying all the time in the treetops) such a lovely sound when they are all around you in the forest. #brambling #bergfink #fåglar #birds #fåglarinpåknuten taken in Skelleftehamn by @aasa.le

Brambling/Bergfink
It was years since I saw them at the cabin in the north, but this year the forest was full of them in the end of July must have been breeding nearby. Passing the cabin windows in flocks.
