#Appericationpost When I started GENEUS seven years ago, I opened the door to student interns and that’s when I met @hausofsf . From day one, I’ve always led with transparency and she met that with integrity, heart, and a real hunger to learn. I didn’t hesitate to pour into her because her work ethic spoke for itself. When her semester ended, I was honestly sad. She had that rare mix of passion and purpose.Fast forward to 2025. I was down physically and mentally after two foot surgeries (yes… no heels for the GRAMMYs 😜). Recovery was rough and I wasn’t able to show up for GENEUS the way I normally do. I finally had to admit I needed help. I prayed about it. Put a post up and responses were overwhelming Then I got a DM that said, “Ma’am… I’m here, hello.” And it hit me. How did I not think of her first?Once again, I laid everything on the table and once again, she said yes. Since then, Shannon you have been nothing short of amazing to me and to @geneusrus . Loyal. Steady. Loving. From strategy calls to execution, from “keep it simple” to “nah, I want dramatic” 😂 we always find the middle. You never fall short.It meant the world to have you by my side during GRAMMY week, hustling next to me in LA, handling interviews, and holding things down the way you do so effortlessly. I even told my husband I don’t know how to repay someone who shows up with this much care and consistency. The invitation was extended!So I wanted to thank you publicly. For everything you do behind the scenes. For being dependable. For being you. You are truly God-sent, right on time, when I needed it most. God is so AMAZING 🙌🏾 Took me sometime to process but here we go…I’m honored to join the @recordingacademy’s 2025 New Member Class—an inspiring global community of creators and professionals who are shaping the future of music.I’m truly excited to hit the ground running just like always! Music has always been at the heart of everything I do, which is why I chose to build a career and business in this space, despite the challenges along the way. I look forward to continuing to support fellow creatives and peers, while staying committed to advocating for and mentoring the next generation.As a member, I now have a voice in the GRAMMY Awards process and a platform to advocate for our industry, support my peers, and grow in my own journey.What makes the Academy strong is its diversity—of genres, experiences, and voices. ROOTS PICNIC, did not disappoint. 🔥🎶History was made watching Jay-Z touch that stage and deliver a freestyle & catalogue that had the entire crowd locked in. The energy? Unmatched.Now let’s talk about the real struggle… that cell service was fighting for its life all weekend 😩📵. If you were trying to post in real time or reach me apologies!But honestly, none of that mattered because the vibes were everything. From legendary performances to surprise moments, Roots Picnic reminded us why culture matters.
