This 14m tall bronze statue standing atop a 26m pedestal and holds a palm leaf is the Liberty Statue, a monument on the Citadella on Gellért Hill in Budapest, commemorating those who sacrificed their lives for the independence, freedom, and prosperity of Hungary and at sunrise I had the entire place for myself

This Iconic Ice Cream kiosk on De Haan’s Beach is standing on a unique historical site which reopened this Easter after being restored to its former glory. It was constructed after WWII on the remains of a Belgian bunker from 1939 which had been reused by the German occupying forces. Woodwork was repaired and repainted, and the façade was refreshed in its original sand color.

This is one of many orientation poles (oriëntatiepalen), serving as safety beacons, designed to prevent young kids from getting lost on the massive, wide and crowded beaches. Local rescue services install these eye-catching poles easily identifiable symbol, featuring kid-friendly drawings like a train, a ball, a fish, a boat, an elephant etc. Parents tell their kids, "We are sitting right in front of the yellow banana pole." If a child wanders away, they need to look up, find their specific icon, and follow it back to safety. taken in Oostende by @aaz148

On an early January morning six years ago, just as the pool master had meticulously cleaned the pools to a spotless condition!
