Wittbrodt weaves together cello, poetry and pop to create pure beauty full of wonder.

There are some albums where, after just one listen, you can tell: this is something special. Wearing Words, Emily Wittbrodt’s new album, released in 2026 on the impressive Belgian label Futura Resistenza, is one such rare discovery.

The Cologne-based cellist, composer and singer effortlessly blurs the boundaries between classical, pop, improvisation and chamber music, crafting a universe of her own in which every melody and every word falls carefully into place. Language takes centre stage on Wearing Words: songs that emerge from sound, rhythm and meaning, as fragile as they are powerful.

Toverberg presents: a debut album featuring experimental folk with ethereal atmospheres

Originally conceived as a way to experiment with turntablism and sound, the project gradually evolved into more traditional tracks with experimental folk elements. With “EP1”, Félicette created a bucolic landscape, featuring lush instrumentation and gentle tracks. Shortly after “EP1”, Sam was joined on stage by Mathilde Luijten (bass), Abel Ghekiere (guitar + clarinet) and Maurice Luijten (guitar). They toured Belgium and mainland Europe, with highlights including support slots for Caroline and Snuggle and performances at the Absolutely Free Festival and We Are Open.

On ‘Eternal Life No End’ (2026, Constellation Records), Radwan Ghazi Moumneh (Jerusalem In My Heart) and Frédéric D. Oberland (Oiseaux-Tempête) weave together Arabic vocals, bouzouki, saxophone and modular electronics into a mesmerising, often sombre musical form that balances between trance, improvisation and experimentation.

The music was created against a backdrop of war and upheaval in the SWANA region, and conveys feelings of grief, anger and perseverance without ever resorting to slogans or clichés.

▷ Double Bill: Regan Bowering & Lia Kohl

▷ Two leading artists from the world of experimental music in one evening.

Regan Bowering is a percussionist, improviser and sound artist based in London. In her solo work, she explores the intersections between drums and percussion, everyday objects, amplifiers, loudspeakers and feedback. Her music oscillates between intensity and subtlety: it shifts from powerful, resonant soundscapes to refined, almost whispered percussive textures.

Lia Kohl is a composer and sound artist from Chicago. Originally trained as a cellist, she also incorporates synthesisers, field recordings, toy instruments and radios into her work as a solo artist, composer, collaborator and installation artist. Her practice focuses on ways of listening that are closely tied to time and place, such as field recordings, improvisation, radio broadcasts and transmission.

An adventurous journey through the grey area between composition and improvisation.

▷ With DAIMON, two key figures from the Belgian jazz, improvisation and experimental scene are joining forces for the first time on record as a duo. Pianist and electronic music architect Jozef Dumoulin and drummer/percussionist Eric Thielemans share more than twenty-five years of musical history, but have never before come together to create a full-length duo recording.

The result is a fascinating musical world in which repetition, gradual transformation and subtle rhythmic shifts take centre stage. The compositions unfold slowly and invite a profound listening experience in which time seems to stretch out and sound is constantly changing form.

▷ Poetic soundscapes that invite you to pause and marvel

Gwen Sainte-Rose’s music feels like a journey through landscapes of sound and matter: organic, sensory, and deeply connected to its environment. Their work invites audiences to slow down, reconnect, and experience a different way of being present in the world. An artistic as well as a political gesture.
