![Since moving abroad 5 months ago I’ve learned that home isn’t just a place but a feeling you carry with you. That quiet strength you build when you’re far away from everything that was once familiar. Grieving the life you left behind, even if you know 100% it was the right choice for [you and yours].
I find myself caught at the intersection of wanting to share this “new” life with everyone but also being protective over the life we are intentionally curating that feels so sacred and real. The peace of mind that I’ve so thirstily craved my entire life that money just simply can’t buy.
Starting over abroad isn’t easy….. It changes you. Makes you even more selective of what you allow in your orbit and eliminating what and who no longer serves you (because the reality is, everyone is not rooting for you to succeed at this). But within that breaking or detachment, there is a becoming.
I’m finding such a deeper connection with self, I feel as if I shed a new layer of skin if you will (“family,” “friends,” etc. But different time for a different story lol) and that has been the most freeing thing.
I am happy, I feel safe, I am grateful, deserving, and I am here taking up space with the love of my life and my pups (who travelled abroad like it was the easiest thing ever, love them for that). Being welcomed with open arms by the wonderful people in Thailand and making friends along this journey. Feeling more present with life than I ever have because I am now living 12 hours ahead of the people I love. Tf do you mean I have already lived the day you’re now about to live?! Sh*t blows my mind in ways you don’t even understand because what is time…
It was all worth it.
The soft life I’ve prayed for, I’m living it and I feel blessed to be able. Still understanding that life’s revolving highs and lows will always remain; I am still learning, unlearning and reshaping…. But I am right where I am supposed to be at this very moment in life and it feels amazing.
This now feels like a journal entry…. lol. I say all of this to say, there is a lot of craziness going on in the world right now, do whatever sets your soul on fire, we aren’t here long at all. by @ab.justwright](https://scontent-atl3-1.cdninstagram.com/v/t51.82787-15/566949935_18534599191031171_3147246192961250378_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_e35_s640x640_tt6&_nc_cat=107&ccb=7-5&_nc_sid=18de74&efg=eyJlZmdfdGFnIjoiQ0xJUFMuYmVzdF9pbWFnZV91cmxnZW4uQzMifQ%3D%3D&_nc_ohc=Yf5aS3mkU7oQ7kNvwEtd_7Y&_nc_oc=Ado5_2kS8JNO8499JNmvKORzCt0ViWAZVjYzaPJuhRqXcttIpBPvzarvpkUmeRTG3o8DhdQQSY7dh3lupvplQD7L&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent-atl3-1.cdninstagram.com&_nc_gid=N0YQ3Mcox3vkfYw6eEpSfA&_nc_ss=70689&oh=00_AQQvC7VSR3ZKylTDRIyzMUyjywg7KhMusSvBkq-z-iCgkw&oe=6AEFE439)
