I’ve written some books and done some talks and I’d like to maybe do a bit more of both. There’s a second UK tour somewhere on the horizon but for now if you want me to come to your corporate away-day and spice it up a bit/make people cry/talk about resilience, change or the badassery of the female force, I am very happy to do that. Or just visit your running club šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø. by @ab_runs

Every now and again coaching spots open up and I’ve got a few coming up in August.

This coaching isn’t just about running - running is part of your life, not your whole life. Running should not be your whole personality. The way you think about running, feel about it and how much you enjoy it depends on your mindset overall not just your ā€œrunning mindsetā€. They’re not different things. If you lack confidence, belief, joy or you’re constantly worried about what other people think or compare yourself to other people that will manifest in all parts of your life - running included. I can help you with that. I can help you change the limits you have put on yourself, develop limiting behaviours and beliefs into helpful ones and help you genuinely enjoy being yourself again. And all you need to bring to the table is you, just as you are.

DM me for a chat. It costs nothing. You’re amazing. Thanks for reading.

I love workshops, whether they’re group ones, one to one day ones, running club ones or the official @spinerace ones, I think they really help people to sort their shit out. I’m planning some more group workshops for the autumn based around Confidence, Comparison and Self-Belief - keep an eye out for them, but if you have something you want to spend a day working on you can book a private one to one day with me or you can bring a mate. It’s like a kick in the right direction.

DM or drop me a line via the website

Meet the field: Allie Bailey (and Pickle)

An ultrarunner known for a remarkable series of world-first endurance challenges including being the first woman to cross Mongolia’s Lake Khovsgol and run the full length of the Panama Canal.

Her achievements also include crossing the Namib Desert three times, setting a female group FKT on the Hebridean Way, and in 2021 she became the only woman to finish the inaugural Run Britannia, covering 1,053 miles from Land’s End to John o’ Groats in 35 days.

Allie has won and podium placed a number of 200-mile events, taking first place in both Wild Horse 200 events (South and Mid Wales) and winning the Spine Summer Challenger North event in 2025. In 2026 she completed both the Dragons Back Race and the Full Winter Spine, placing top ten in both events.

As well as joining the starting line for the full Winter Spine in January 2027, Allie will take on the full 236-mile Wrath in May of the same year.

A helpful 3 mins on Consistency

Consistency is about showing for yourself every single day - even when it’s hard. It’s about doing the basics well to start and building around that. Consistency isn’t part of a ā€œblockā€, it’s an ongoing body or work that never ends. And if done right it can enrich your life in incredible ways.

Being consistent doesn’t mean doing the same thing over and over again every day or having a regimen that starts at 5am and ends up with you crying in the corner of a cross fit gym. Consistency is simple, basic and if we’re honest, pretty dull sometimes, but it always wins over quick fixes, fads and panic training.

Start with the small things you can do every day/every other day. You clean your teeth twice a day, you take the dog out, you have a shower - you are capable of being consistent because you have a clear why for all those things. Get a why for your running and don’t make it shit or short term. Good why’s are passionate and real. Mine include being about to go for those long run weekends with my friends, being able to run with my dog, having freedom into old age. What are yours? Make them REAL and long term. Training for a marathon will only inspire you for 16 weeks.

You won’t enjoy every run and you wont get a PB every session. That’s fine. Show up anyway. You’re allowed to enjoy yourself without having a marker for ā€œimprovementā€. Small daily actions add up to massive results.

KEEP IT SIMPLE - start with ā€œI will run for 45 mins 3 times a weekā€. Just run for 45 mins. Not how far. Not how fast. Put it in your diary at the start of the week in the past tense eg ā€œwent for a runā€ not ā€œgo for a runā€. Your brain will protest less if it thinks you have done it.

Get into a rhythm THEN fill in the details and remember rest is also part of consistency. Part 1 of 31 Days (my book) ā€œDo the Basics Wellā€ covers how to start, and has some really helpful tools for gamifying your consistency. It takes around 66 days to form a habit - that’s two months. Challenge yourself.

If this is helpful please share it, questions below, next up we’ll talk about fuelling for longer events and traini by @ab_runs

A helpful 3 mins on Comparison - I hope!

This focuses social comparison, which in 2026 seems to be the biggest problem. Watch the video, write helpful its down, and here are some excercises for working through your comparison issues.

Exercise one: Think about the person or people you are comparing yourself to and using and write down all your thoughts on why that comparison works - don’t edit them, go wild with everything you think you know. Are they the same age, height, did they have the same upbringing, do they have the same reproductive cycle, athletic history, childhood trauma, did they start running the same time as you drop they train the same as you?

Now go back through that list with a highlighter and highlight only the FACTS you know to be true. The fact you can prove in a court of law.

Now you see the facts vs fiction, how do you feel about that comparison?
Revel in how insane you are and go back to minding your own business.

Exercise two:
Write down why you do this hobby - what amazing things are you getting out of it? Focus on things theatre in your control (so your attitude, responses, the feelings you want to create) rather than things that are out of your control (times, finishes, results of competition). Helpful hints - ā€œbe the best I can beā€ or ā€œsee what’s possible for meā€ (in your control) rather than ā€œbeat Janet from clubā€ (out of your control)

When you find yourself comparing in a way that is detrimental to your experience READ THE FUCKING LIST. Stay in your lane. Eyes on your process. You are responsible for your own joy. Do the work.

Get the book, join the academy when it opens, (details in link in bio) share the post and let me know if this is helpful below. by @ab_runs

A few people asked me to make yesterdays rant about 100 mile weeks into a reel so hey presto!

The internet seems split between to Bro Bragging Bullshit of not doing any training ,attempting to wing 50 mile race and being applauded for it and the 100 Mile Meme Bros, allegedly overtraining to the point of idiocy followed by acute injury and more followers. Nobody talks about the influencers just being consistent, doing the boring stuff and constantly getting results. People on here want shock and awe and extremes. That’s the problem with our sport. It’s often represented as brutal, tough, extreme when most of us don’t see it that way at all. If we did, why the fuck would we keep doing it?

Let’s start with the Bro Braggers. Since when was it cool to not do any work and then get rewarded and applauded for it? Why do we celebrate these pricks? Entering a race that you’re not trained for puts you, the medical team, the race company and the other runners at risk. It also makes you a special type of lazy cunt. It show disrespect for yourself, the event and the other runners. Sandbagging is one thing, thinking you’re the man or a level above for not training is another. Stop celebrating these people. They are vacuous thundercunts.

Now the over trainers. Lads, the only people doing 100 mile weeks are professional, usually full time paid athletes and Internet Meme Men. I am imagining it’s the Internet Meme Men you are listening to. They are going to extremes (or saying they are) for like and follows. Only 0.05% of people will ever become professional athletes, so you Joan, and you Kevin, you are what’s know as hobby runners - it’s your hobby. It’s not your job, you don’t do it full time, you don’t have a team of nutritionists or physios. YOU SHOULDN’T BE RUNNING 100 MILE WEEKS. You will exhaust and injure yourself. You will get slower, not faster. More does not equal better. TALK TO A COACH. A real one. My top five are here @jameselsonator (and the centurion coaches) @rushbynature @garyhouse_ @kimcollison and @wildheartrunners

Share this it if you think it’s helpful - it’s a pain the arse stitching this shit together. Thanks for listening to my TED Talk. by @ab_runs

BIG news šŸŽ¬

Ultra Women, our latest documentary, has been officially selected for @kendalmountainfestival this November. We’re VERY excited and can’t wait to see you there!

In January this year, the @ultra__women crew followed the extraordinary women taking on the Montane Winter Spine Race: 268 miles along the Pennine Way in the depths of winter.

Following the stories of Anna, Llinos, Allie and Sal, we explore what drives these four women to push themselves to the absolute limit.

Through exhaustion, injury, doubt and moments of inexplicable strength, four very different journeys reveal what it truly takes to face the Winter Spine Race.

Follow @ultra__women for exclusive updates and ticket release info for screenings.

Trailer coming in October šŸ‘€

I am so excited about this workshop for many reasons. Firstly we are staying in a fucking CHURCH (sorry for the swear @stmichaelslodgehudswell), secondly I am co-hosting with @kirstyreade72 who is the wisest woman I have ever met, thirdly Pickle (yes she be there) is hosting her own hour long workshop entitled ā€œBe More Pieā€, fourthly we have the incredible @soundhealingmagicwithliz coming to play her crystal bowls, aura gongs and crystal triangle in a private hour long soundbath in the church on Saturday evening. It’s going to be amazing.

The aim of this weekend is to help anyone who has lost the magic, fun and enjoyment in their running. We will do a couple of workshops looking at why this happens and work with you on your personal issues be they comparison, thoughts of not being good enough or pressure and the drive to be ā€œbetterā€. We will also do a couple very chilled runs and have a lovely time.

I have 14 spots - that’s all. Cost is Ā£275 and that includes everything detailed in the slides. You can reserve your spot with a Ā£150 deposit and pay the rest 4 weeks before. If you want a place EMAIL me allie@alliebailey.co.uk and I’ll send you everything you need.

You don’t have to be an ultrarunner, you don’t have to come on the runs, you don’t have to be fast. You can just be you. This really is for everyone.

Any questions ask below or DM me. This really is going to be magic and I cannot WAIT! by @ab_runs

This is exciting - the 31 Days Academy is launching in mid October and it’s something I believe could really, really help change your life a bit.

I’ve noticed people struggling with keeping the work going. After the initial rush of excitement, lack of accountability, your brain returning to old patterns and the fact that yes, it hard! comes into play and people just drop off and stop trying to create these new neural pathways. The difference between people who get the most joy, purpose and wonder from their running and those who don’t is doing this work and embedding it in your life. Changing your mind takes time.

In modern times it’s super hard to ā€œfind your peopleā€ to share this with so I have created the 31 Days Academy - an online subscription based safe space where we can do the work and support each other in an amazing, curious, nonjudgmental way. There will be in depth webinars on each chapter, monthly group video calls to discuss elements of the book, discussions on problems we face and success stories to help motivate and inspire you to keep at it. Everything is recorded so subscribers can rewatch anytime. There will be online worksheets and progress markers and there will also be a forum for you to meet your people, form friendships, share tips, race stories and get peer support on any element of your running you can think of.

We launch in mid October and I am looking for 10-20 founding members to take on the platform for a 50% discount to try and break it. If you want to be one of those people join the mailing list in my bio and I’ll send a mailer when we are ready to go - first come first served!

I think this could be absolutely magical! Eyes peeled for launch date! by @ab_runs
