A nurse practitioner saw this piece in person yesterday and was stunned by the Hopi Medicine Man she saw in the painting. She said "this is a Native American Medicine Man!! See his head and his hands and his dance?!" She was completely floored and thrilled and schooled me on the mysticism of the Hopi peoples. I've been inspired to re-name this piece. Meet Spirit Dance!

I was Blessed to spend the day at @dixonmemphis yesterday and overheard Dr. Earnestine Jenkins' tour of the Black Artists in America show that she curated. A piece by @carriemaeweems titled "From Here I Saw What Happened And I Cried" turned my heart inside out.

This piece is titled Cinderella's Castle (Self-Focused). One day I'll have a wife and kids and I cannot wait. During this season of my life, however, I've decided to soak in my abilities to stay self-focused, and really enjoy my life as it is today. This work is a celebration 🍾

I got to spend 5 hours at the @highmuseumofart recently. Seeing so much amazing art really expanded my painting practice. I could not WAIT to get back in the studio.
