Playing with Denim as a canvas, an exercise in Palette management for a slow afternoon. Casual but Intentional!

A soft blue denim shirt and wide leg denim grounded the look, layered with a graphic green knit vest to break the monochrome and bring in texture. Blue and green, a palette that shouldn’t work but does when done right, could have been flat but ABÁNITÚNRASE plays with colors well enough

POV: You told your stylist “casual” she heard “casual couture”

Matcha in hand. Lady Dior in the other. The balance is very personal

Shirt: classic
Vest: conversation
Shoes: exclamation point

Blue jeans, blue shirt, blue bag. Mood: coordinated, unbothered.

Dressed like I have somewhere expensive to be.

The very first person that taught me all I know about colors. Matching shoes and bags and purses and gele with lace in aleshinloye market is the very foundation of my undying love for color matching and contrast.

Styling the very first person that heard about Abanitunrase and believed in the vision and supported with prayers has always been my greatest wish and it makes me genuinely happy I got to do that this year.

AISHAT EKUN! Omo tí Ekùn bá bí, Ekùn nin jo

Aishat’s reception look highlighted curves, lines and silhouette. The sculpted bust cups, snatched waist with the orange swirl, the entire gold beading on the bodice that reads like a tiger’s golden coat catching light.

The entire bodice creates an hourglass silhouette that not only reads tiger but also celebrates Aishat’s curves and the intricate details of a woman’s body, the way the mix of colors also glistens on her skin with a tri toned custom fabric with a different mix of orange and gold.

Aishat’s Aso oke look had to be at the core of the tiger motif interpretation since it was her main traditional look, so we had to make it evident with subtle symbols.

Earthy tones of brown, deeply rooted green that not only gives that jungle feel but also catches the light on her skin, the tiger eye beads, tiger stripes running across the sides and the elongated train at the back that somewhat looks like the torso of a tiger and the tiny tiger pendant at the top of her fan.

A Nikkah look curated from the only skirt Aishat has worn and loved, with the underlining tiger element she gave as part of the brief for all of her looks, and this reads white tiger energy.

Rarity, sacredness, purity, new beginnings and spiritual protection. Soft striking chiffon with fluid movements that floats like a white tiger moving through mist, silent, graceful and commanding.
