Fewer people, clients, and studios actually want to be surprised. They want every detail neatly explained, leaving so little room to just dream. Totally forgetting that when an artist is in the ZONE, magical things do happen.
I have always connected with the way David Lynch sees things. I’ve constantly fought this overwhelming pressure especially for my film work to make “perfect sense”.
I want to leave space for the unknown in my work. So Fuck the system. I make the films and art that I want to see and experience, not what anyone else wants me to make. #Davidlynch #filmmaking #filmdirector #visualartist #director taken in Los Angeles, California by @abarca

Grammy winners @clipse for @applemusic Directed by 🙋🏻

I’ve worked with @apple across plenty of different projects over the years, but directing a live broadcast always brings a different dynamic. The real time focus in the control room is relentless. There’s no “cut, let’s do it again.” Once the AD counts down and I give the SM the cue, we are all locked in to the very end.
Calling cameras, cueing graphics, and pivoting on the fly... what happens, happens.
It’s wild, it’s intense, and I can’t wait for the next one just to call out those final words over the comms like I always do: “Great show everyone.”

PS- Not shot vertically obviously!
