The Wind

The wind is so loud.
I never really enjoyed it
until I sat in it.

To be still
is something we take for granted

First it’s elementary,
then middle school,
then high school,
then college,
then a wife and a house,
and then kids.

Then this tax bracket
and that tax bracket.

And success after success after success.

And hobby after hobby
and job after job.

Society wants to take over
the destiny for our life.

But today I won’t let it.

Society is the wind
and wants to push us so fast
through the years of our life
we forget that we could go against it.

I enjoyed the loud wind today
because I realize
I could find stillness
