Hey there! 👋 It’s about time I put a face to this page officially.

If you’re new here, or if you’ve been following for a while but didn’t know who was holding the pen—I’m Julie your local Southern California, LA/OC calligrapher. A little introduction of myself:

✨ The Creative Journey: I’ve been working as a calligrapher for over 10 years, but my roots in the creative world go much deeper. Before I fully fell in love with ink and paper, I spent over 25 years working in fine art, photography and freelance graphic design.

✨ The Turning Point: While I always appreciated the art, I began to get serious about calligraphy 9 years ago following a spinal cord stroke (why I’m in the wheels, ask away if you’re curious I’m happy to bring awareness to this very rare event.) In many ways, picking up the pen became my path forward, a way to heal, and a reminder of the beauty in small, slow, intentional creation. It changed how I view art—and life.

✨ Behind the Business: A few personal details you might not know about me:
* The Name: My business is named after my daughter & heart Abigail Josephine.
* The Partnership: I’ve been happily married to my partner in crime for 21 years.
* The “Co-workers”: We share our home with two absolute terrors... I mean, terriers. A staffy and a very vocal bull terrier. They do keep life interesting.

I’m so grateful to have found a small but lovely community here over the years. Tell me something about yourself in the comments below—how long have we been connected? 👇. Photos @kerrinserna by @abbijodesigns
