Immensely grateful for all the light that passed through you to me. I still cannot fully process the fact that I cannot be there beside you now, in person, to bid farewell. That absence has left a dent in my heart that will remain. After a long cry, one thing feels quietly settled within me is you returning to the light. Letting you go to the source feels light. Adieu. Rest well. I will keep finding you in light ✨ Forever one of your favourite students. Forever your child. by @abbiramy.r
Birthday post ! The past whole decade had been a roller coaster ride ! There were moments of extreme joy, excitement, adventure, disappointments, frustration, etc. From hitting the highest to the lowest point of life, the universe has been kind enough with it’s providence and the love that I received from people I came across at each point of time 🌸 Truly grateful to each and everyone, including myself for picking me up each time when I fell low and choosing what’s right and best for me ! Lots of love and gratitude 🌸 #hello30 #thirtybutseventeen #birthday #gratitude #life #fearless #beautiful #journey #love #goodvibes by @abbiramy.r
Maa… ♥️ The knowledge sharing….finally @krishna1prakash explained the “why” behind it all. ✨ Saucha. Purity, poured ✨ Her drape is being prepared with care and craft! The one who explains the why 🪔 The moment i’d waited for since childhood 🤗✨ Up close, she felt very real even though in the form of stone 💛 Every offering, made with full presence 🔴 She, in her completeness 🪷 Grace, mirrored 🙏🏼 The @shrimathyoga community that held me so warmly ♥️ by @abbiramy.r
At Kainchi Dham, Kakrighat, and Kasar Devi, we set out to tap into one thing. Grace. 🪷 Every seeker arrived with their own experience, yet the feeling that rose was shared by all. Thank you, each of you, for your open-mindedness, your trust, and your reflections. These are the moments that stay with us. 🙏 by @abbiramy.r
All I could see were five Devis. Not draped in gold or seated on thrones. Just sitting. Grounded, completely within. This is Shakti in its quietest form - no roar, no weapon raised, only the strength of a woman who has chosen to turn inward. This Navaratri, I’m celebrating the Devi who doesn’t need to be worshipped from afar. She’s right here, eyes closed, holding everything together. 🪷 Shot during the recent immersion conducted by @shrimath_yoganidra #day5 #navaratri #navaratri2026 #devi #maa by @abbiramy.r

Digital Society through Your Eyes: Featuring the next selection from our open call! Encounter ‘The Indigenous Storyteller’ by Abbiramy S R. (Glenmorgan, Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu, June 2018). “A Toda tribal woman records a community gathering on her smartphone in Glenmorgan, Nilgiris. Digital technology is increasingly becoming part of everyday life in indigenous communities, transforming how memories are preserved, stories are shared, and cultural events are documented. Once largely represented by outsiders, communities today are using digital tools to create and circulate their own narratives. The photograph reflects this intersection of tradition and technology, where cultural identity remains rooted while modes of participation and communication continue to evolve.” I made this photograph while documenting the Toda community in Nilgiris. Popular narratives often portray tribal communities as disconnected from modern technology, but this moment challenged that assumption.” Abbiramy S R. is a a documentary photographer originally from Tamil Nadu and currently based in Bangalore, India. Her work focuses on people, culture, identity, traditional textiles, and the evolving relationship between tradition and contemporary life. “Through long-term documentary projects, I explore how communities navigate social, cultural, and technological change while retaining a sense of belonging and heritage. On the textile documentation front, I document indigenous weaves across India, particularly the last generation weavers.” #MuseumofDigitalSociety #OpenCall #Photography #DigitalSociety #Archives by @abbiramy.r

Jallikattu, 2026. Witnessed the spirit of Madurai this Pongal. Experienced Jallikattu for the first time despite being born and raised in Tamil Nadu. Uffff… mind-boggling scenes. And also heart-wrenching ones. Raw. Intense. Unfiltered. Coming from the southern part of Tamil Nadu, I’ve always been deeply connected to my cultural roots. For a long time, I carried the urge to not just document them but to truly witness them, wholeheartedly. This feels like the beginning of a year where I choose lived experiences over distance. I present to you the visual essence of Jallikattu - courage, rawness, dare, devotion, power, pride, love, joy…and the undeniable cruelty that coexists with its spirit. #jallikattu #pongal #madurai #tamilnadu #india #photography #documentary #travelgram by @abbiramy.r
