Continuous work on getting the Celica ready for a coat of new paint. Nothing professional just a respray of the original 3D9 Metallic Wine paint.
With such a small market and an even smaller circle it’s hard to find proper ways of removing things. Lucky for me I do have skills from the past decade of doing this wrenching stuff, it’s not necessarily hard but it does call for patience and trouble shooting.
On that note I have gotten the grill and the front bumper guard off. All the side trim, moldings, and markers have been removed, those were surprisingly easy to remove off the vehicle.
Next on my list is getting the engine bay cleaned up, then replace a few lines and connections. I plan to paint it one piece at a time so that I can still drive it when need be. So far, so fun!

I finally got around to fixing the door hinges of the driver side door. No more having to lift the door but yet I have grown a bad habit of still doing that😐😂.

Count it! I finally got my dream car. 1984 Toyota Celica GT/ 22re—W55, although this car wasn’t always around me it has always been in my life. My Optometrist of more than 20 years and good family friends Dr. Jim Valponi gave me an offer of a buy I couldn’t refuse last year. He knows that I have a love for these cars and that I very much love 3rd gen celicas so he had blessed me with unbeatable deal and I jumped on it. I can’t wait to get this interior clean and get a clean recoat spray done. Maybe even go a lil lower with some supra wheels.

How to build a Pontiac GM th350…. Step 1 buy a tranny site unseen. Step 2 throw it in the back yard and forget about it. Step 3 realize it’s a th400 and completely disregard all that you read from that little booklet about how to build th350s and go on a whim of rebuilding this one. Yeah it wasn’t all that hard but now that I’ve dabbled with them I can generally see how 350s and 400s have their issues and greats about them. Me personally because I like Manual Valves I’d recommend the 350 trans built over a 400 built because they no like staying alive in one gear during a burnout.

A pillars, seams, and rear pillars are all cured and sealed. As you all can see I have some inner/back paneling to spray still. Little trick to that one is taking a WD/40 nozzle and tube and you can easily reach those tiny nooks and crannies.
Btw still the only ‘64 Tempest I see being built on Instagram!

The Tempest Custom is now cured internally on the floor boards and firewalls!
On that note we have acquired a Pontiac engine that is period correct for the cars trim level. 326ci Pontiac, have a nice 068 cam to go in it for less than $120!
I kept reading in forums on sbc swaps and a lot of the Poncho guys don’t like when you swap an “inferior” engine for a solid Pontiac power plant they say😂🏁.

Welp guys and girls it’s a new project. Me and pops needed a well deserved break from the truck stuff. I have loads of parts to apply to both trucks. Lots of cut and weld but for now we want too get another classic going. As you may notice it’s a Poncho! 1964 Pontiac Tempest Custom. It originally had a 326 poncho with a 2 speed power glide. Soon it may have another 326 poncho in it with a good ole th350 and a b&m shifter to look cool.

1992 Jordan 7’ Hare’ color way now in my rotation! Ever since I had bought the 2015 retro I was let down and didn’t like the retro look and feel of 7s. I promised myself I was going to get a replacement pair for my 2015, and the only sensible option was to get the OG’s!🔥🔥

I also want to give a shoutout to @quayrestorations for the joog on these and doing his thing and making these completely 1000% wearable again. These went straight to foot right out of the box I was so excited.

Fan Expo 2024 man what an amazing experience this was!
I’ve always dressed up as Mandalorians for airsoft events but never went to big time nerd events. With that being said this was my first ever convention of all things comics, cosplay, anime, and starwars!!! It was dope and I got to see some pretty cool people and get some dope autos!
Want give a big thanks and shoutout to my older brother @thewompastompa for inviting me out I would have heavily regretted not attending. Here’s to many more! See y’all at GalaxyCon!!!

This is how you swap a broken valve spring without taking the head off… in a nutshell

Remove valve cover to find broken spring. Pressurize the cylinder, remove the rocker and apply homemade tool to the stud. After applying pressure remove the retainers and release the tool pressure slowly. Now take the spring cap off the said broken spring and swap the new spring in repeating this method now backwards. Boom did that in 2 days with the Encyclopedia, my pops🫡, and homemade tools. Why buy it? Just build it! by @abbotsante
