“the rain falls on the just and the unjust” we can interpret this to mean that we must embrace the unexpected

The most unexpected and beautiful thing to ever happen in my life has been the Ball State Speech Team. Never before did I think that I would go to school almost a thousand miles away, let alone find such an utterly incredible niche in the world for myself.
I used to worry that I would never find a team/activity where I could unapologetically be myself. But now not only do I have a team that has shown me unconditional love, but a community that embraces everyone no matter what they come from.
Thank you to my team for such an amazing first year of Speech, I have learned so much and I now walk taller with a lesson learned from everyone. I will take what you have given with me and use it not just for the next 3 years on the team, but for the rest of my life

Thank you Ball State Speech,
