Legally Blonde at Indiana University 💖

It’s such a beautiful thing to look back and see how much I’ve grown as a designer post-grad school. This was my first multi-location set with a very limited budget and build process. Iykyk, I lived, laughed and loved, but I’m so proud of how far I’ve been able to come since then, and how much I continue to use what I learned from that process to grow as a creative. But look! Flying units! Wagon units! So many casters!!
So much sparkle!!!

✨ Also idk why my content keeps getting flagged for AI because it’s just simply not. I do all my collage edits in canva and photoshop. I’ve spent a lot of time making my own templates lol. My renderings are through sketch-up and v-ray and occasionally I’ll use thea render if I’m feeling spicy. Notice how I forgot relayer a butterfly on one of these slides? lol def intentional and human. Def not because I just didn’t notice it until it was already posted. AI is for losers.✨ by @abbybilsoncreative

💖 welcome to my weekly drafting thoughts and affirmations divas 💖

Y’all. AutoCAD and I are basically besties now. Only took three years but it’s so wild how much I’m like, ooo yes let’s go drafting. Me and a caffeine beverage at my creation station just simply cannot be stopped. Live laugh love converting nominal measurements. Here are some of my fav inside thoughts from the week, super excited to be working on some insane shows coming up in NYC and beyond!

…is it working? Is my fabulous online presence making you want to hire me? by @abbybilsoncreative

Sanctuary City at Indiana University

One thing about ya girl, she’s never gonna stop finding ways to use applied theatre in scenic design to promote social justice and change. What can I say? She’s a former public school teacher, darlings✨
And she’s an award winner babyyyyy

Shoutout to my dramaturg @spenfiel who said it best, “This is a story about people whose lives are not inherently political, but whose lives have been politicized.” That’s the heartbeat of the art here.

Newark is the setting of this piece, but for me, the Midwest is its soul. This one’s for my baddies from all over the world holding it down in Indiana.

May we never cease our joy as rebellion, our presence as power, our art as protest. Abolish ICE. by @abbybilsoncreative
