This big-headed baby is 40 today!

As I was journaling last night I wrote, “Am I where I want to be? Is that even the point? I made it here and I have the privilege to keep going.” And… I’m so deep?! Lmaooo. I’m grateful to make it to 40 and excited to keep seeing milestones.

This summer I vow to flirt with EVERYONE, take a lot of walks, have a little frolic, and continue to be a soft menace in everyone’s life. AMEN

ALSO IT’S JUNIE’S GOTCHA DAY. I have thought about launching this cat into space no less than 150 times but then I’d have to go to space to go get her back. She is mine and I am hers 💕 even if she does eat hot chips for breakfast, wants to know if you have games on your phone, and spatially misses the litter box when she pees. Every other damn day.

Another @secret_supper in the books, this time in New Orleans, where I feel most myself outside of Chicago. Nicole is a wonderful host, and if she has her way I’ll be her next door neighbor soon.

RIP to my car Ruby, totaled in a car accident 2 days ago. Listen, I know this is a car but it was truly my road dog, drove anywhere, never broke down, had a remote start AND a bullet graze wound that I deemed a “dimple.”

Unsure who did the body, not gon lie. Imma pour one out for you mane! 😭 Also I am fine, unhurt and unbroken, just a little shook up and sore - thank God by @abbyblujay

Including several snaggles from Wylie who is missing his 2 front canines. He’s perfect and has never done anything wrong. Junie….? Would do it and would say “AND I’D DO IT AGAIN!” but then she sits with her paws curled in and I cry about it by @abbyblujay

We laid my Auntie Mickey to rest today. Growing up she was my favorite person to visit, it was like having a big kid as an aunt. This photo of her on the carousel is how she stays in my mind. Full of life, smart humor and an infectious laugh.

The pastor who gave the sermon said she lived 25,088 days. The ideas she had about life looked different than the life she lived, or so she thought. The people who showed up for her today, people whose lives were impacted by her, let me know that she was loved for all 25,088 days even if she didn’t understand it.

I hope she knows it now, now that her soul has found rest and peace. Love you forever. I know Grandma will be so happy to see you. Squeeze her for me ❤️ by @abbyblujay

Lots happening lately but mainly consumed with the newest addition to my lil family. Meet Junie B. Jones. And the B stands for Beatrice and that is that. Wylie is reluctant but also secretly loves her.

It’s been 6 months with my favoritest toddler-cat, Wylie. Turns out what I wanted in a dog - not fussy, cute, fuzzy, low maintenance, will fetch, will cuddle - was a cat. I can’t imagine life without this giant baby I have ruined by holding him constantly. Not that I’ll stop holding him but whatevs. Clearly I’m obsessed with him 😭 but it’s mutual.

And! Sometimes his lips just get stuck on his teef, deal with it lol by @abbyblujay
