I wanted to make another about me post, as this marks me switching up my art style. I’ve been excited to do this for ages and I’ve been practicing heaps, and I think I’m ready to start challenging myself with art in a whole new way. So I thought, why not make a whole new intro post, as some things have changed, and I also have a few more people on my page. ☺️

Hi! I’m Abby! I’m 21 (22 in September) and I am from Australia! I love all things art and craft, animals, music, disney, fangirl and anything with sparkle and colour! 🫶🏻

I have loved drawing and doing art since I was really little. I remember at primary school spending more time drawing and colouring in my worksheets, than actually doing the assigned tasks! I also won my schools art competition in 2012 which guess what, it was a mermaid with a rainbow. Clearly nothings changed! 🤣

I have a condition called ‘Venous Malformation’ (VM), which causes tumours made of veins to grow in my knee. I got my first tumour in 2021 and as of today I’ve had 4 surgeries and 3 procedures on my knee. My tumour has been taken out and grown back 3 times and I’ve had chemo injections in my tumour twice. After almost 5 years of my tumours growing and repeatedly getting them surgically removed, my condition is finally in a stable place. However from all the trauma my leg has endured, I’ve been left with a likely permanent disability. I’m unable to walk on my own and use a wheelchair to get around. (though I’m working super hard to use my crutches more) I’ve also been left with chronic pain syndrome which is likely here to stay. 🩼

I’m a huge swiftie, I love Gracie and I’m a massive Disney lover! I love listening to my massive Spotify playlist while I draw, my favourite song ever is Haunted from Speak Now and I love Disney movies! My favourite Disney princess is Ariel, as it has been since I was 4 years old. My first love for music came around when I would watch hi-5 non stop as a child. And since then I’ve loved anything music/dance. 🎶

PATIENT ZERO! 🖤

I knew that I had to draw up this cover. I loved the simplicity of it! I had so much fun drawing it up, I started it pretty much as soon as the cover dropped! My favourite of the 4 songs is Pink Clouding, but honestly I’m obsessed with all of them! I’ve been playing every single new song on REPEAT the last few days!

I’ve seen so much hate surrounding Taylor’s new songs this week, with people saying they’re the worst songs she’s ever written, and honestly, I just wanted to say something about it.

It is completely okay to not like these songs. You don’t have to love every single song Taylor puts out to be a Swiftie. Maybe these songs aren’t your favourites, maybe they’re not your style, and that’s completely okay. Music is subjective, and everyone is going to connect with different songs in different ways.

But I think there’s a big difference between simply not liking a song and going on with your day, and publicly bashing a song and attacking the people who genuinely enjoy it. You’re allowed to say, “These aren’t my favourite,” without making someone else feel bad for having them on repeat.

You can love the songs, you can dislike them, or you can be somewhere in the middle. There’s room for all of us.

So if you’re seeing all the negativity online right now, try not to let it ruin your experience. Allow yourself to enjoy the songs you love. Allow yourself to be excited. Let people have their little moments of happiness without coming for them.

At the end of the day, we’re all here because we love Taylor. We don’t have to agree on everything to be a community. So let’s just be at peace with each other and let people have a genuinely good time. 💗

And if you love the new songs… keep playing them. Loudly. 😂🫶

If you would have told me that out of the blue, Taylor Swift would announce a new single today, I would not have believed you!! I’m so excited to listen to the song on the 25th, I’m so curious about what it’s gonna be about and what it will sound like. I got my preorder cd and I’m so excited to play it. It’s giving me Ttpd and Showgirl vibes at the same time.🖤❤️‍🔥

Five years ago today, I had no idea how much my life was about to change. What started as something I didn’t understand became a journey that would shape so much of my life. Five years later, I want to share the story of everything that happened along the way.

I was a dancer from ages 10-17, and I loved absolutely every part of it. It became something so important to me, and I believed that I was going to be doing something dance related for the rest of my life!

A few years prior 2021, I had started to notice that my right knee would hurt sometimes. But it’s wasn’t constant pain so I just thought it was overuse from dance and pushed through it.

On the night of 20th of September 2021, I had a dance class on zoom as it was Covid days, and I noticed after the class that my knee was hurting. I didn’t ever injure it which is what made me most confused. It didn’t look quite right to me so I called my dad in, and he took one look and said “umm, I’ll be right back” That’s when I knew something was wrong. My parents noticed my knee was slightly swollen and had a little bump on it. I used an ice pack that night and was told they would make me a drs appointment in the morning.

21st of September (the next day) the lump on my knee seemingly grew twice the size overnight. We were obviously extremely concerned and so we got a thankfully close drs appointment. I then had X-rays, ultrasounds and an MRI, which they came to the conclusion that I had a ganglion cyst. (Which isn’t what it ended up being but more on that later)

I had surgery to remove the “cyst” in December of 2021 and was sent home. By this time my pain was so bad I couldn’t walk.

I had around 9-10 months of freedom, and learned how to walk and dance again, untill it grew back in October 2022. I got more scans that confirmed it.

5 years. 💜

September 21st marks five years since the beginning of a journey I never expected to be on.

What started with noticing a lump on my knee turned into years of appointments, scans, uncertainty, pain, crutches, and learning how to live with VM.

There have been some incredibly difficult moments, but there have also been moments of growth, strength, and things I never thought I would experience.

This drawing represents five years of a journey that has become such a huge part of my life. It’s a reminder of how far I’ve come, even when it didn’t always feel like I was moving forward.

I’m still learning, still adapting, and still figuring out what the future looks like — but I’m proud of myself for getting this far! 🫶🏻

My first drawing in my new art style of Cindy!

I feel I’m really starting to get the hang of my new art style and figuring out what I like. It’s taken a while but I feel I’m getting better at it! I’ve finally found brushes I like and use consistently, and I’m getting faster at sketching. I am loving my new style, and I’m so happy that I pushed myself to try something new. I’ve ended up loving it even more and having even more fun with it. 🩵

This was my first time drawing Elsa in my new art style. I could definitely do a lot better as this was a while ago and just never got around to posting this one until now! I would change a few things about it, but I also feel like it’s a good starting point to getting better at drawing these princesses. I can’t wait to look back at these early drawings years from now and see how I’ve improved!! I’m constantly learning new techniques to improve my art and I’m so excited to see how much I can improve in the next few years! 🩵❄️☃️

I can’t believe we saw a comeback of the surprise song piano! I thought we would never see it again!!

The Icon Sessions at the Grammy Museum was incredible! It was so awesome to hear her talk about her work. I loved her dress and I just knew I wanted to draw it! I hope you love it, I had lots of fun making! 💚🌻🌸
