WHY WE RETREAT

There is something incredibly powerful that happens when we step outside of our everyday lives and choose to retreat.

For me, retreat has never been about escaping life. It is about stepping away from the routines, distractions, responsibilities and patterns that keep us moving so quickly that sometimes we forget to listen.

We retreat so that we can get quiet enough to hear ourselves again.

We practice. We breathe. We move. We eat together. We laugh. We connect. We spend time in nature. We create space to remember who we are underneath all of the noise.

And sometimes there is tremendous value in doing that somewhere completely different from home.

Traveling to another country takes us outside of what is familiar. We experience another culture, another landscape, another rhythm of life and another way of seeing the world.

When we travel consciously, we arrive as guests.

For us, traveling to Peru is not about consuming a beautiful place or simply using it as the backdrop for a yoga retreat.

It is about entering that place with reverence and respect as Peru is deeply personal location to both Erika and I.

We are thoughtful about who we work with, where we stay, where our money goes and the relationships we build with the locals who welcome us. We believe in supporting the communities we visit and understanding that being welcomed into another culture is a privilege that comes with responsibility.

There is something deeply aligned with yoga in this.

Yoga has never been only about what happens on the mat.

Yoga asks us to practice svadhyaya, self study. It asks us to practice ahimsa, non harming. Aparigraha asks us to loosen our grip on what is familiar and what we think we know. Viveka asks us to practice discernment and to see ourselves and the world around us more clearly.

Breath and Yin

Tuesdays at 7:00PM. Come stretch and breath.

A Journey Through Breath, Stillness, and Deep Restoration

Breath & Yin is a deeply nourishing practice that blends the transformative power of breathwork with the meditative stillness of Yin Yoga. Designed to calm the nervous system, cultivate inner awareness, and release deeply held tension, this class offers a sanctuary for both body and mind.

We begin with guided pranayama practices to awaken the breath, clear stagnant energy, and create a deeper connection to the present moment. From there, we embody the breath through a thoughtfully sequenced Yin practice. Long-held, supported postures invite students to soften resistance, release tension, and explore the relationship between breath, sensation, and stillness.

As the practice draws to a close, we transition into reclined breathwork and an extended savasana, allowing the body to rest completely while integrating the effects of the practice.

Supportive, warm, and nurturing, this class is an invitation to slow down, turn inward, and reconnect with the wisdom that already lives within. Here, the magic lies not in doing more, but in being fully present.

Suitable for all levels. No prior experience with breathwork or Yin Yoga is necessary.

The class is rooted in the foundational principles of Yin: come to your edge, relax, stay still, and resonate—allowing the effects of the pose to linger and integrate.

Join us in Peru for a sacred pilgrimage to the Andes. Answer the call…

I am so excited to team up with my dear friends @erikavangemeren and @bodhistarwater to bring you to a place that holds a special place in both of our hearts—Peru.

This January, we invite you to join us for a 7-day retreat in Peru’s Sacred Valley at the beautiful Samadhi Retreat Center. Nestled among the Andes and surrounded by the powerful energy that has drawn seekers for generations, this retreat is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the practice of Bhakti Yoga—the yoga of devotion, connection, and divine love.

The Sacred Valley has been deeply meaningful in both of our journeys, and it feels like a gift to share this sacred land and experience with our community.

Over the course of the retreat, you will experience:

• Twice-daily yoga practices
• Bhakti Yoga teachings and philosophy
• Mantra and devotional practices
• Opportunities to explore the Sacred Valley
• Nourishing meals and beautiful accommodations
• Meaningful connection and community
• Time for reflection, rest, and integration

Each day is intentionally designed to balance structure with spaciousness. Morning practice will awaken the body and breath before breakfast, while evening practice will support deep relaxation and integration before dinner. Between sessions, there will be opportunities for exploration, connection, and simply soaking in the magic of this sacred land.

Whether you are seeking a deeper connection to your practice, a renewed relationship with yourself, or the opportunity to experience the beauty and wisdom of Peru in community, we would be honored to share this journey with you.

I had a beautiful time last weekend at B2B shows @soulspacecollectivegv for the first time. From “Bhakti + Beats” Friday to “Ritual Dance + Cacao” on Saturday, the space came alive with devotion, movement and connection. What made these nights especially meaningful for me, was witnessing a vision first spoken into existence nearly two years ago, during Soulspace’s early planning days, fully come to life. Co-creating back-to-back evenings together felt like a true manifestation, not only a gift to those of us collaborating, but an offering to the community who gathered with such openness, presence, and trust. @soulspacecollectivegv couldn’t be more appropriately named, as it was just that. Much love to @abbyjacobyoga who taught such an amazing yoga class and @neema__star for serving us the most delicious cacao, clearly made with so much intention and love. You perfectly navigated the transition into the dance. A very special thanks to the @soulspacecollectivegv family @amorebatte @carly.eyes @thisis.saniah @rubychase for making sure we were all set up for success. It’s such a special community you have and having so many friends working together, only expands the field of magic.
I’m already looking forward to the next one. 😉🙏🏾❤️
Thanks for the telling content @thisis.saniah and your wonderful images @light.eyes_ !❤️❤️
