What do YOU think?
A “Karen” or not a “Karen”? The angry comments have been rolling in after a reel I posted of a conversation between me and my guest, Stacy Ennis, where she speaks about having a negative experience with public schools and her daughter here in Portugal.

It sounds like adapting to public schools, or integrating in general, as an expat or immigrant has kicked up some dust. Do you think it’s okay for an immigrant to feel negatively and ultimately comment on that experience? How much and how far do you think immigrants or expats have to go to integrate?

I personally think that each family should choose what is best for them, especially when it comes to their children’s health and education. I believe you can integrate and adapt into the culture and not agree with it. I have heard and spoken to local Portuguese people who have also said they do not entirely like their own local public schools and have had difficulties themselves.
Are expats not permitted to share this opinion? Should they just “shut up” or “go back home”?

I want to know what YOU think?
