And as the week comes to an end, and we lay our textbooks aside, there’s a sense of relief that washes over us. In the midst of balancing finances, deadlines, and the weight of adulthood, we cling to the last parts of our innocence—the freedom to express ourselves authentically. In the quiet moments of dorm room laughter and the shared camaraderie of campus and city explorations, we find joy in the simplicity of being. Dressed A Broke College Jawn Classics, we’re reminded that true richness lies not in our bank accounts but in the experiences we create and the connections we cherish. We may be broke and trying to find ourselves but that’s okay. With every step we take, we carry the hope of brighter tomorrows and the resilience to weather life’s storms. Here’s to holding onto our true selves amidst the chaos, and to finding moments of pure joy and adventure in the ordinary. Together, we navigate the journey of college life with courage, authenticity, and the unwavering spirit of youth. We are Broke College Jawns.

About the SHE-EO:

Our CEO, @paigesymone , came up with the idea for ABCJ during her freshman year of college. As a black girl in Philly who loved to experiment with her style, she really struggled with finding a consistent appreciation for her style. She also heavily struggled with really figuring out what her set style was. Her time in college helped her discover she has no set style and allowed her to explore different types of styles, aesthetics, and forms of fashion. Because of how liberating fashion made her feel, she wanted to provide that same feeling for more students. A way for college students who were broke just like her find a way to truly express themselves and find who they are through their style in college.

Quick recap from our first fashion show! Thank you so much to @nullasecunda_ for organizing this and asking us to be a part. We learned a lot!!! ABCJ went from its first fs rejection in Virginia to being asked to do its first fashion show in the AUC a couple months later! We are consistently working to our ABCJ on the map and perfect our craft and we thank each of yall for the continuous support you’ve given us. We hope to be able to put on our own fashion show in the future once we work on some things we learned from this one! As long as yall keep fw ABCJ, we gon continue to put on for the 215!
