Accelerating Digital Health in Sikkim: ABDM Health Facility Registration Drive Across Gangtok and Namchi District

03/10/2026: Dedicated field teams conducted an intensive Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) Health Facility Registry (HFR) onboarding and verification drive across multiple locations today. In Namchi District, the drive covered the Yangang area, successfully onboarding 7 private health facilities and achieving 100% completion of private facility registrations in the area with active cooperation from local health facility representatives. Simultaneously, field teams carried out intensive drives across Gangtok: covering Namnang, MG Marg, and Tibet Road (onboarding 7 facilities, verifying duplicate entries, and guiding prospective establishments); Amdo Golai, Shere Punjab, and Syari (registering 4 facilities and documenting closed units); and Chandmari and Upper Bojoghari (registering 4 facilities and verifying branch statuses). In total, 22 health facilities were successfully brought onto the national digital health ecosystem today, marking another major milestone as the department continues its saturation drive to bring every eligible health establishment onto ABDM.

Orientation Programme on Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission Held for Medical Officers and Programme Managers
11/09/2026: An orientation programme on the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) was organised for Medical Officers, District Programme Managers and Block Programme Managers from various districts and blocks of Sikkim.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Bikash Pradhan, Principal Director-cum-Mission Director, NHM, with Dr. Sangeeta Pradhan, Principal Director-cum-State Mission Director, ABDM, and Dr. Doma Bhutia, State Nodal Officer (ABDM), along with senior officials and ABDM field functionaries.
The programme covered the ABDM overview, State performance, IEC & Capacity Building and IT-related aspects. The Medical Officer-in-Charge, Yuksam PHC, shared field-level experiences in adopting digital health platforms.
Dr. Sangeeta Pradhan emphasised the need for all health facilities to move towards paperless operations by the end of the financial year and stressed the onboarding of health professionals and public and private health facilities onto ABDM registries.
Participants also undertook pre- and post-test assessments, with prizes awarded to top performers.
In his concluding address, Dr. Bikash Pradhan encouraged participants to take proactive ownership of ABDM implementation to strengthen a connected, efficient and patient-centric digital health system in Sikkim.

ABDM Monitoring Visits Conducted at Three PHCs in Namchi District

As part of routine monitoring activities under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), the State Nodal Officer (ABDM) and State Project Coordinator (ABDM) conducted monitoring visits to Tokal Bermiok PHC, Ravangla PHC and Temi PHC on 24 August 2026.

The visits focused on reviewing the progress of ABDM implementation at the health facilities and assessing the use of digital health services and infrastructure. The team also reviewed the progress of ABHA generation and digital health record creation and management.

During the visits, the team interacted with the health facility staff to understand the challenges faced in implementing ABDM initiatives and discussed the support required for smooth and effective implementation. The monitoring exercise also aimed to strengthen digital health practices at the facility level and ensure better utilization of ABDM-enabled services for patients and healthcare providers. by @abdmsha

Mangan, 21 August 2026: As part of the routine monitoring activities under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), the State Nodal Officer (ABDM) and State Project Coordinator (ABDM) conducted monitoring visits to Mangan District Hospital and Phodong Primary Health Centre (PHC) on 21 August 2026.
The visits focused on reviewing the implementation status of ABDM initiatives at the health facilities and assessing the availability and utilization of ABDM-enabled digital infrastructure. The team also reviewed the progress of ABHA generation, along with the creation and management of digital health records, to assess the adoption of digital health services at the facility level.
During the visits, the team interacted with the facility staff to understand the operational status of ABDM-related activities, identify challenges being faced in implementation, and assess the support and guidance required for effective utilization of the digital health ecosystem.
The monitoring exercise is aimed at strengthening the implementation of ABDM across health facilities and ensuring that digital health services are effectively integrated into routine healthcare delivery, thereby facilitating accessible, efficient and seamless digital health services for citizens.

Review Meeting on First Quarter Progress of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM)

26/26: A review meeting on the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) was conducted today under the chairpersonship of Dr. Sangeeta Pradhan, Principal Director-cum-State Mission Director, ABDM, in the presence of the Director-cum-State Nodal Officer (SNO), ABDM. The meeting reviewed the progress achieved during the first quarter of the current financial year and discussed strategies for strengthening the implementation of ABDM initiatives across the State. The participants included District and Block Coordinators, representatives from STNM Hospital, and officials from the State, District, and Block levels.

A presentation on the first quarter progress of ABDM for the current financial year was delivered by the State Project Coordinator, ABDM. The Joint Director (IT) presented the status of IT-enabled health services and digital infrastructure, while the Deputy Director (IEC) highlighted the IEC and capacity-building activities undertaken to support the effective implementation of the mission.

The Program Officer and the Principal Director-cum-State Mission Director addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of timely implementation, data quality, and effective utilization of digital health platforms. The meeting concluded with an interactive discussion, during which participants shared their field experiences, operational challenges, suggestions, and recommendations to further strengthen the implementation of the mission across the State. by @abdmsha
