Had to disappear for 24hrs for this. I had to just live in the moment with my g @dhercs But wow we are actually @BAFTA NOMINATED?!??! What in the matrix is happening. A film like ours doesn’t really get made let alone get nominated for a BAFTA, so my head is spun. I’m just so proud of all of my team, the people who have supported us and those who continue to push this thing we call film. by @abdou__cisse
SCREEN STARS OF TOMORROW ya na!!! Got me all looking GQ ready. Like LOOK AT THE TRIIIMM! On a serious note, it’s truly incredible to be part of such a sick alumni of trail blazers and badboy artists, writers, directors and actors. Espsh this year, where I get to be alongside some peeps I admire such as @theagajic , whose shorts have paved the way and inspired so many of us as well as these kings 👑 @iggylondon & @mrtosincole . What a wow. So big up @screendaily for helping shine a spotlight and for creating a platform for our work to be seen. I hope we continue to just create and express what we want, and continue to do it with VIM and joy. I also hope my hairline stays intact for my debut feature but that’s neither here nor there……mmm well its defo still here and its defo there in the photo…buuuuttt lemme wrap this up. A massive thank you to everyone who’s been there for me and who continues to support and push me on this beautiful journey. Authors of the Estate has just been nominated for Best Short Documentary at @griersontrust. We made this film for the love of it. The love of our community and the love of the craft. No one commissioned or briefed us to make it, we just have raw passion. So it’s always a gift to see how many places this passion resonates. We are the Authors of our Estate. — Large up the whole family: @patricia_blaze8 @nabil.alkinani @pesovisuals @mellozwrld @gbajabee @_jimmymih @adj_1mg @bosolaa @vanessa.pole @manlikemack @abdou__cisse @andriana.lagoudes

🏆 BUFF Awards 2026 | Best Short Film 🏆 Congratulations to Authors of the Estate directed by @abdou__cisse, winner of Best Short Film at the 2026 British Urban Film Festival Awards, in BUFF’s 21st year of championing bold independent storytelling. Set in Northwest London, Authors of the Estate is a brilliant and thought provoking work that reimagines space, voice and possibility, asking a powerful question, what if a council house could become a publishing house? From that striking premise emerges a story of ownership, creativity and the transformative power of words, rooted in community, ambition and the belief that stories can reshape futures. It is imaginative, socially resonant and deeply original filmmaking. This is exactly what BUFF has stood for over 21 years, cinema that gives voice, challenges convention and opens doors where others see walls. A richly deserved win to the filmmakers, cast and creative team behind this exceptional short. Love Summers in the ends!! Rare settings of when we used to play outside all day and where something as simple as a shopping trolly would bring us endless joy. Big up the wizard @beauxpj on just nailing the improv by @abdou__cisse
Home Town Author: Daniel Macintosh, Chalkhill Estate Title: THEORY OF CHANGE III “Change is new theatres and new museums but who are they to serve? Change is old communities exiting and new communities entering. Change is the optimism that meaningful change is on the horizon. And despite all this change you’re still standing Just here - being you. Don’t ever change.” by @abdou__cisse
