The north rim at @blackcanyonnps was a trip. The campground is super remote and right next to a trail full of awesome views. It’s also home to an old growth forest of pinyon pines and Utah junipers; some are over 700 years old. So cool.

First attempt at a composite (swipe for a timelapse video too).

This was shot at @blackcanyonnps on 6.14.26, the day before the new moon. It’s a composite of two images: the canyon during blue hour and the Milky Way at around midnight.

@blackcanyonnps is probably the most underrated National Park I’ve ever been to.
My first night on the north rim was incredible, but a cloud front rolled in for most of the night. Second night on the south rim, though.. wow. Wait till the end to see some really cool airglow too.

Black Canyon of the Gunnison is an International Dark Sky Park in Colorado, and it’s every bit worth it to see the Milky Way here. The best time to go is on a New Moon between April and September. Shoot me a DM if you’re curious about recommendations; I love talking about this stuff.
