When my father was here, we spent every#fathersday @hollywoodbowl. We enjoyed the music, great food and met random strangers that would become lifelong friends. Over the years we experienced numerous jazz greats from #Celiacruz, #dizzygillespie ,#quincyjones and even #kennyg serenaded my dad!
Each year, we made the long trek up the hill to our seats at the top. Our ritual always included getting the old carpet seat cushions and bringing a bottle to share with the people sitting in our section. Throughout the evening, total strangers would bond like lifelong friends. My father would always smile when he introduced me to his friends and laugh when he told them how I hated jazz! After he passed, I almost thought of not attending because he meant that much to me. However, my friend reminded me that the best way to remember him was to celebrate his life with music, food and stories…and a glass of wine! I will never forget the love from everyone after he passed and it will always be a special time and place for me.
