The Abandoned House

This place... you know it all to well... much more than the last.
There's so many memories about this place...

While the place before was a short part of your life, this one has much more significance. You've come here since before you gained sentience.

Your life was built within these walls.
Here you learned.
Here you grew.
Here, you were given purpose.

The people here said they cared about you.
They said they wanted the best for you.
They wanted you to be happy.

But they were hypocrites.
The lot of them.

They secretly judged you, despite their claims that they loved you.
They knew you were different from the rest.
They knew conforming to their rules was not easy for you. They knew your life was miserable.
But they didn't care.
For they themselves were miserable.
And they only came here because they were scared.
Guilty.
Alone.
They grew dependant on this place. They couldn't find a way to move forward without what this placed offered them.

But you did.

You found there was more to this life than this place and what it taught you.
You learned how much of a blissful, ignorant lie all of this was.
And with that realization, for the first time, you found solace.
You finally made peace with the past.

But everyone refused to see things the way you do. They wouldn't let go.
And they probably never will.
So you left them behind.
You forgot all about them.

But this place hasn't forgotten you yet.

This place is much different than the last, but it shares a common trait.
It refuses to be left behind. It doesn't want to become a burning memory.

However, this place is more persistent, because of what it wants from you.
It doesn't beckon you.
It doesn't want to hold you in a warm embrace, even though that's what it tells you.
It wants to grab you and never let go.

It knows you won't let it, though.
It knows you've left it behind.

But, no matter how far you go...
How much you separate yourself from it...
And how much less you depend on it.
It won't let you go.
And it probably never will.

The Empty School

This place... you remember it, don't you?
Think back.
How long ago was it?
How long were you here?

Regardless, it was a long time ago.
Back when this place was filled with laughter, smiles, and friendly faces.
Faces that you can't recall anymore.
