$👣 From past 11 months, I have spent most of my days in South India with some trips here and there. Met new people, experienced new cultures, languages and a-lot more. A part of it I have captured and created in a way that will keep my memories alive. So, i am sharing a significant fraction of that among all of you with a hope that it will shape a part of your personality and mentality towards this journey we call “Life”. And also i will keep sharing my experiences until unless i find a greater purpose to invest myself to. For now, this is what i want to do. #throughmyeyes ✍🏻 ਪਿਛਲੇ 11 ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਦਿਨ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਯਾਤਰਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਿਤਾਏ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਨਵੇਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ, ਨਵੇਂ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਾਂ, ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੁਝ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਸਬ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਭਾਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਕੀ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਲ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਾ ਰਹਿਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ, ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਉਮੀਦ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਨਸਿਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ “ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ” ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਇੱਕ ਨਵਾਂ ਨਜ਼ਰੀਆ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਤਜ਼ਰਬਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਵੱਡਾ ਮਕਸਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ। ਹਾਲ ਦੀ ਘੜੀ ਮਨ ਇਸ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੈ। ਸਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ, ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਯਾਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਝਰੋਖੇ ਚੋਂ। #southindia #kerala #tamilnadu #karnataka #travel #explore taken in South India by @abhi_virk_$

there is a japanese art of Kintsugi 🎎

it means repairing broken pottery by mending the cracks with powdered gold. it reminds me of this particular phrase “We are all broken, that’s how the light gets in.”

Leonard Cohen, Canadian song writer, in his song “Anthem” 1992, sang a line ”There is a crack, a crack in everything / that’s how the light gets in.”

Ernest Hemingway, American novelist, on the other hand, wrote in “A farewell to arms” 1929, “The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken place.”

Internet somehow mended both of these sentences and made its own “Kintsugi.”

In Buddhism, there’s a concept of Anicca (impermanence)

it teaches us that everything is constantly evolving,
decaying amd transforming.

spiritual idea of energy changing forms across cycles of existence without losing its underlying connection to the cosmos.

the biological process of fossilisation doesn’t destroy the tree’s form,

it changes its substance with minerals!

with each element going through entropy, we try to hold onto people, moments, and things.

Little do we know, it’s a very thin line that we tread upon. Creation of a memory and imagining the next moment is what mostly captures our attention, resulting in the moments floating by.

Or maybe it’s the nostalgia that filters out the part where you felt lack and keeps the one full of life. Or maybe it’s the people you are with.

Either of them makes you alive once again. Breathing becomes slow, and the charm of spending good days without knowing they indeed are the best is what keeps me up at night; it is what makes me human—confused, yet momentary.
