POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
As some of you may know, I recently finished my year as an a ministry trainee at CityGates… And, perhaps, you’ve been asking me, so, Abi… what are you up to next? What’s your plan? What are you doing, like…for work?

Well, as you can see, I have very serious matters to attend to. Especially now it’s autumn. 🍂

I’ve been busy collecting leaves… kicking leaves…running after leaves.. squatting in between collecting, kicking and running… Very serious, busy stuff. My days are pretty packed.

However, I do also have some time in my serious, grown up schedule open for freelance!

So, if you have a commission idea or you know someone who may want to get ahead with Christmas shopping, then do get in touch. I’m very excited to be scribbling again!🖍️ by @abi.harold

Fell back in love with keeping a sketchbook this past week and now I can't stop daydreaming of colours and paper. I have been so thankful to find restful moments of quiet, to stop and watch the world go by and see it all afresh.

Huge shout out to @annie_fugere_art for reminding me of how rewarding this practice is. Listening to her speak of the curiosity and commitment behind her work, inspired me so much I ran to the kitchen at midnight to start drawing again! I haven't stopped since. by @abi.harold

I recently got to scribble some pictures for @rosamundfrances debut poetry book, Pistachio Ice Cream 🍦

When Rosie was putting together this collection, we were both hunched over desks in my art studio, melting in the summer heart. Deadlines and grown up responsibilities weighed heavy… Much to do, not enough time.

So, of course, we ran away to get ice cream.

We forgot our worries and became young girls for the afternoon at @cafegelatonorwich. It was great.

Today, I got to hold Rosie’s finished collection in my hands.
What was once a dream, is now in the world. How cool is that?!

My friend Rosie is a lover of words, pistachio ice cream and most of all, Jesus. She has made something very special, illustrated by many brilliant artists.

I am sure you will love this book as much as I do! ✉️ by @abi.harold

Tucker and I wrote to each other for about a year before I went to visit.

Zach put us in touch after meeting Tucker post gig in London, where I'd handed over a rough scribble of him playing, scrawled in the dark and cold of EartH. It was Marie Claire who gently told him to take the tattered page and we exchanged brief but warm kindness. Tucker later told me he could hardly see anything but my eyes from behind my scarf, yet it was enough to know — we would be friends.

We used to liken our exchanges to a tin can line. Every week or so, we'd tug on it and listen close to each other's rattles — anyone who knew Tucker knows he wrote the most brilliant, winding emails that felt like such a gift when they fell into your inbox. We went on like this, sharing musings and music, advice and anecdotes for some time, until it was suggested I come to visit and do some more scribbling.

The precious week we spent together will forever be one of the most treasured times of my life.

MC and Tucker embraced me into their home, their friends and their love — which was like a secret language you got caught up in, just through being around them. Their best friend, Dany, is evidence of this. Their love created family, and to sit with them round a kitchen table was to be outside of time. It was to be eternally youthful. One of my favourite memories, is when I told them about Smelly. Tucker knew of her, of course, she had made her way into email exhanges early on. She's me, I told them, as a child yes but more than that...

When I turned to ask them both who was their Smelly, it wasn't long before Marie Claire exclaimed "Beetroot!". I had never felt so delighted at a response. Soon after, Tucker became Tippy and the stories, the real, the very real, the something in between, all became a swirl about us and, I think, this is the moment I realised I loved them.

One day I'll illustrate the stories of Beetroot and Tippy. One day, I will find the right words to describe what it was to squirt squirty cream into our mouths at 3am like teenagers. One day, i hope to write a song as pretty as to listen to Marie Claire humming in her garden.

What a gift it is to have loved you both. by @abi.harold

"...And a little child shall lead them"

Fumbling her way up Mount Admin, Smelly stumbles upon a lamb. At least, she thinks it is. Two shaky legs stick up out of the ground -- this stubborn creature as fallen into a hole and can't find it's way out. Gently but with great effort , she pulls him out and sets him back on the ground. The right way up this time. Smelly takes a good look at him. Muddy and confused. "You're just like me!" She says. The lamb stares back blankly. "Baa?"

Smelly decides she will take care of the both of them. She ties a string around his neck, to keep him safe. They have a long journey ahead and the road is rocky and steep. Thankfully, though they may not know it yet, the eyes of a kind shepherd are watching their every, wobbly step. by @abi.harold

‘Where The Land Meets Sky’, Murmurations debut album, comes out this summer on July 31st 🪽Here is the final cover design, drawn by @abi.harold.

Working on this album has been one of the most rewarding, challenging and beautiful processes that we are so thankful for. This could not have happened without the support of so many loving people ❤️

Our dream now is to make this release as special as possible, both to honour the work that’s gone into it and for those who have shown support towards our musical adventure🪽

In order to produce physical CDs, merch, fund a mini tour and do all the things we can to make this album a success, we have set up a Crowdfunder fundraiser with the goal being to raise £1000.

We have been so blessed to be able to self fund this journey up until this point and it’s a daunting task to now ask for financial support. But if you were thinking of ordering a CD, buying a t shirt or just want to show us some love — now is the time that your help would go a huge way ❤️

Each donation will receive a personalised thank you card (design of your choice from @abi.harold) — there’s a bunch of other rewards available on there too, link in our bio 🪽 And if you can’t donate, any shares would mean the world too!

Thank you so much to you all for being the most amazing support a little girl band could hope for. We can’t wait to see you at future shows soon , playing this album for you🪽 by @abi.harold

This album has been a long time in the making. So much time, creativity and love has been poured into this project. It is a precious time capsule to us, of all we have shared these last two years, as a band and as friends - captured beautifully by the incredibly talented Odhran Linsey.

More album details to come, but until then, grab your tickets now on the NAC website or the link in our bio. Thank you for all the support so far, we cannot wait to share this night with you.❤️ by @abi.harold

Feeling very loved after a week of birthday antics. Thankful for every message, gift, sweet treat (thanks Em, best cake ever) hug, word of kindness or bop on the forehead. Filled my heart right up, in a way I really needed. I’m officially a 5 year old adult (I count 20 as the beginning) and excited to be. by @abi.harold

Playing around with some new digital brushes and found this great scruffy pen by @joe.lillington 🖌️ Immediately wanted to draw my Smelly, as always.
Alone at first but pretty soon, she was making mud pies all over the page. Far too many for one little girl. She needed hungry bellies to feed . So she invited some friends to her wobbly table and they had a great feast. And even though you can’t really eat mud pies (don’t tell Smelly) and the table was a bit cramped (some had to make do on the floor), all ate until they were full and even had some leftovers for another day. Somehow, there is always enough to go around 💝

“He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.”

Some sketchbooks scallywags, probably up to some tomfoolery🦝 I am still pretending to be a grown up at the moment, with a real life illustration job (!), so there isn’t much time for play these days. But I’ve been reading Narnia and Moomins and am completely enchanted by chapter book illustrations — little treasure islands and rafts in a sea of text. (Tove Jansson’s illustrations of Snufkin in particular are my absolute favourites) by @abi.harold

My sketchbook has become my portable home again. I carry it with me everywhere, and it rewards me with moments of purpose and joy amongst ordinary days. Relearning the art of noticing and enjoying the design — of nice packaging, my tired face, expensive olive oil, my favourite car etc etc (a super long old Volvo, in case you’re askin’) by @abi.harold
