Today is Olive’s big day! So many mornings in her little room after she ate being so good. Until I told her the news this morning—stay until the end. ❤️ Rescue is the reason. TLDR: happy nye ❤️

I: worked really hard to hopefully one day work less, celebrated the end of the year of the teeth, got to finally have my bff with me on kauai, rescued and fostered kittens, watched dozens of trials in hopes of justice for victims within our flawed but fascinating legal system, bought shit on tiktok shop that promised to make my skin glow, live-streamed the eras tour everywhere in every time zone, cancelled a lot of my travel plans just to be at home with my animals who need me, missed my grandma, went to the county fair with my dad like always, was lucky to have people in my life who help me care for my animals, relished in another unforgettable trip to nyc with my dad and my uncle sean, went to the eras tour and heard the surprise song mashup of my dreams and had my mom there with me in spirit (and on livestream from home), and i hugged the people i love and adore. here’s to the next one. ✌🏻 by @abigail.susannah

Today is 2 years without Winston and 17 years with Belle who shows no signs of slowing down. I rescued them in the Bay Area in 2007 and they were my first pets ever. I never did the long, poetic post when he died — partially because I really had too much yet somehow nothing to say. I still think a black sweater on the floor is him from time to time. These two saw me through the entirety of my 20s and long after that. When I think about the amount of heartbreak, house parties, and homebody-ing they’ve seen me through, it really makes me smile. But also, they had each other and I was always fearful of what would happen when one went first. The way my younger animals have embraced her since the moment he passed has been so beautiful. Thank you for everyone whose held a little love for my pets over the years — there’s nothing cooler than other people loving your animals. ❤️ taken in East Nashville, Tennessee by @abigail.susannah

Four whole years of bear. 🥹 Anyone who knows me or has followed my foster journey, knows Cary and her special kind of magic. She accepts and loves animals that pass through who need healing, loves walks on her leash when the leaves are falling, and has had a hold on our hearts—different than any other kitten I’ve rescued—since day one.
