There is a deep sorrow in realizing that
the person who has inspired this portion of my life I’m living would have loved it, but won’t get to share in it. 😔

But each time I’m crossing something off I can’t help but think he’s right there. 🥹

There were so many things my dad didn’t get to accomplish and do. He did a lot of things backwards, and it took him along time to figure his crap out. I told myself that I didn’t want to do it like that, and definitely didn’t want my life to end how his did… hence the effect. 🦋

Thanks to everyone who has followed this journey thus far. There will be more adventures to come @abigail_7172 if you want to follow along 🫶🏼

One year of loving Vida 🤎

I genuinely don’t know if I could ever put into words how much this little dog has saved me. Through family struggles, anxiety, infertility, friendship heartbreaks and just what has felt like a really heavy year of life, she has been there through it all.

There have been days where she has quite literally been the reason I get out of bed. She’s my best friend, my little trouble buddy, my adventure partner, and one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I have loved a lot of dogs in my life, but there’s just something about Vida. I don’t think I’ve ever loved something quite the way I love her.

So cheers to one whole year of loving my little moon who, without even knowing it, helped carry me through some of the hardest parts of this year. 🤎🎀 by @abigail_7172

Come with me to wake up our new puppy 🥹🐶

Miss sweet Vida is literally a unicorn puppy when it comes to sleeping. It was her second week home and she was already sleeping through the night.. and with my wild airport hours, she even lets me come home in the mornings, nap, and she naps right with me in her crate 😭 Waking her up is my favorite way to start the day. 💛

Swipe for some recommendations on places to eat while in Destin, Florida 📍

📍The Back Porch, Destin FL
- make sure you get a bucket drink so you can enjoy the ocean few and a good drink. Probably my #2 place 😋

📍Beignets & Brews, Destin Florida
Make sure you add this to the list! It’s not far from the boardwalk! And just right around the corner from Dewey Destin’s!

📍McGuire’s Irish Pub, Destin Florida
Everyone knows about McGuires. Famous Irish Pub with good food, and millions of dollar bills everywhere (literally.) Started when the first original waitress got a tip and pinned in on the bar for good luck, and it’s grown ever since. Sign your dollar and put it up!

📍The Gulf, Fort Walton Beach, Florida
We took a catamaran and ate lunch prior and dinner when we got back because the food was THAT good. It was super clean and had the cutest layout with the bar, shops, couches, etc.

MY #1 RECOMMENDATION
This was the best food ever. The best crab legs I had while I was there and way less $ than the ones I had in Destin. Our service was amazing, and I just can’t stop thinking about everything we ate. I would fly back just to eat here. ‼️😋

📍Dewey Destin’s, Destin, Florida
We were recommended this place after we went parasailing. Definitely worth mentioning! It’s a popular place and has good food!

‼️ TIP ‼️
• We spent more money in food here than I did on a solo international trip for everything. 😂 Keep in mind restaurants IN Destin are going to be more expensive than those in neighboring towns.

Something we like to do when traveling is try to pick 1 meal to eat out and try different places. While yes food is a HUGE part of traveling and vacationing, you also don’t want to break the bank. Don’t ever feel ashamed for traveling and not eating at ALL the restaurants or being able to afford a meal out everyday!

My sister and I are officially trading WiFi for waterfalls, notifications for nature, and screen time for soul time 🧘‍♀️🌿 We’re off the grid for the next week at a retreat deep in the Sacred Valley … catching up with each other, with the earth, and with ourselves.

📵 No signal, no stress. Just sisterhood, serenity, and maybe a llama or two 🦙

How I spent the 3rd anniversary of my dad passing.🕊️

Anniversaries never get easier. They serve as a reminder of the time and distance separating you from the people you love most.

A few years ago, we decided we didn’t want this day to only be about loss. Instead, we’ve made it a tradition to spend it remembering my dad in the best way we know how. By being together, sharing stories, laughing, and making new memories in his honor.

It doesn’t take away the grief, but it reminds us that love is still here. What was the worst day of our lives has become a day where we lean on one another a little more and remember that the greatest gift my dad gave us was each other. 🤍

Dear Mr. Strickland…
remember when I could barely stay awake during the Inca Empire unit? Look who made it to Machu Picchu! 😅 Turns out history really does come alive. Just needed a passport and some altitude. 🗺️🏔️ 😂

We learned that Machu Picchu might’ve been the Ivy League of the Inca Empire?! 📚Some historians believe this ancient city wasn’t just a royal retreat. It was basically a sacred school/university where Inca elites studied astronomy, agriculture, and spirituality. 🌿🌞

In 2025, archaeologists confirmed a massive underground tunnel system (called the Chincana) running beneath Cusco, believed to connect to Inca temples and fortresses. Secret tunnels, celestial classrooms, and mountaintop views? Hogwarts who?

Still mind blown from everything we learned in Peru 🇵🇪🧠

PSA from your friendly gate goblin: that cute bag tag might help you spot your bag on the belt, but if the airline tag gets yeeted off in transit, we need something with your name and number to save the day. Help us help you—tag it like you mean it (inside too)!

I have had a bag that had no identification and no name -nothing and unfortunately we had to send it off to United for them to try to track the owner down. I have started to write on a post it card with my name, email, confirmation number for my flight, and my flight plans. And then I put it inside my bag!

Many people don’t like their address and personal info outside their bag for someone to see.. which I understand but stuff something inside!

Additionally I write my name and number in sharpie on the bottom of my suitcase!

One whole year with SkyWest Airlines and what a ride it’s been! 🥹

From tossing bags on the ramp to assisting passengers at the counter and gate, I’ve done it all. I’ve taken 54 flights, visited 2 new countries, made lifelong friends, laughed till I cried, created silly videos (that still crack me up), and collected memories I’ll never forget.✨
